A list of puns related to "John O' Groats"
Recently I started looking into a short and intense bike trip to Europe for 2023. Minimal gear (no camping), 150-200km/day on average, 2 weeks total for the whole thing.
I looked into it, and distance-wise the UK and Italy seem to be decent options at around 1500km. I'm already looking for a friend to come with me and share the costs.
Would one be significantly more expensive than the other? My main expense would be the lodging (I'm guessing Airbnbs), I'd bring my bike and I'd avoid restaurants as much as possible.
Is there anyone out there interested in doing LEJOG in summer 2022? I've done this before and have a few people interested but it's more fun with a bigger team. It's a great ride if you haven't done it and definitely something on many riders bucket lists. Looking to do it in 9 days which works out at about 100 miles a day!
Hi r/charity!
September 2022 will see me pedal 970 miles from Land's End, all the way up to John O'Groats, to raise funds for Cancer Research UK - an amazing charity that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cancer. Whilst it's a UK charity, the research is shared internationally.
It's going to be a monumental challenge considering my furthest ride so far has been 36 miles! Let alone the fact I'll be climbing over 52000ft of elevation over 9 days! If you'd like to follow my progress, either in terms of training, fundraising or the actual event, you can do so through the link below!
It's a personal challenge for me, with cancer unfortunately routed in both sides of both mine and my wife's family. I'm hoping to raise Β£2500 as a small contribution towards beating cancer for good!

Every penny helps! And if you're a UK resident, don't forget to tick the box for Gift Aid - the UK government will donate 25p for every Β£1 donated!
Thank you so, so much for your support!
Is there and off road route lands end to John O'Groats? I'd love love cycle it but being on a road for 1000 miles doesn't sound fun. Has anyone mapped out a off road route?
Hey, first timer here, can anybody recommend me a route that doesnβt rely on dual carriageways? Google maps is useless, and despite it being a popular challenge, thereβs not a lot of maps or step-by-step guides online. Any help would be welcome, thanks :D
