I asked John Clayton today 'if' we had to trade Earl Thomas what would be a fair haul. He said a 1st and a 5th. Would you want us to do it?

Pro trade: He's a smaller safety who gives huge hits and relies on speed, and could have a steeper drop off like a Bob Sanders (or Felix Hernandez). He's not guaranteed to resign and expressed interest playing elsewhere. If many members of D leave, like Avril Kam Bennett and sherm, are we winning the super bowl with him in a year he's 50/50 to leave after?

Against trade: At this pace, future hall of famer at premium position. Defense goes from upper ranked to lower ranked without him. Makes all members of secondary after.

Belichick would trade him wouldn't he?
