Wow, what a year it's been, again! First of all, hi 5 to all of us that made it to December 2021, both in life & still playing this game. This game (and this year!) have taken us through the entire spectrum of emotions in 2021, so we're running it back! Out r/future_fight awards is a tradition we started 2019 and continued in 2020 of shining a light on some of the best parts of the Future Fight year.
Over the next few days in the run up to/slightly going into the new year we're going to be voting for the best our favourites in various categories in the game throughout the year.(See upcoming vote schedule in at the bottom of this post)
Today's vote: BEST NEW MODE/FEATURE!
For a game that's almost 7 years old we're pretty lucky that the devs continue to innovate and try to give us new/improved ways to play MFF. Today's vote combines both new playable game modes as well as new features/QOL changes that had a significant impact on how we play the game.
The nominees are (in order of release):
- New Story - The True S.H.I.E.L.D. <The Future Ends Here>.
- Improved hero ranks of obtainable heroes from the Free Hero Chest.
- Timeline Battle <Challenger League> added.
- Glory Token / Advanced Glory Token shops added, Cheer system added.
- Alliance Conquest <Challenger League: New York> added.
- Alliance Conquest Normal League Ranking rewards and Contribution rewards improved.
- Maximum score of Alliance Battle Extreme increased from 7,000,000 to 12,000,000, Difficulty to obtain scores once an Agent’s score reaches 7,000,000 in Alliance Battle Extreme increased.
- Using clear tickets now gives 50% Hero / Uniform EXP.
- World Boss: Legend <Mephisto>.
- Dispatch Missions Added.
- C.T.P. of Judgement reforging added.
- Synergy Characters system added in Story Mode.
- Hero Growth Difficulty Improvements (Native tier 1 character acquisition/upgrading permanent discount).
- Guided Quests added.
- World Boss Supergiant Ultimate Difficulty added.
- S.H.I.E.L.D Lab replaced with Craft System.
- Black Widow Legendary Battle added.
- C.T.P. of Authority reforging added.
- Menu UI changed.
- CTP of Authority craft event.

This is not me putting down animation or cartoons as a medium. Far from it. I adore it and have seen plenty of masterpieces aimed at both children and adults.
The academy award for that is just awful. In a sense that it's nothing but a glorified "Pat disney on the back again". Almost all movies in that category are generic animated children's movies whose only value is box office. Reminder that the abominable "Boss Baby" was nominated.
It seems they only watch the hottest new cartoons and decide which one won based on box office alone. Screw artistic merit, screw the animation quality, screw everything. Disney demands their yearly reward.
In 2009 we had Up!, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Secret of Kells and The princess and the frog.
Naturally the disney feature won, this isn't me putting down Up!. It's a good movie. But falls short compared to either Coraline and Mr.Fox. Who both had mindblowing stop motion animation and did something very different to the disney formula.
Then in 2012 there was Brave, Frankenweenie, Paranorman, The Pirates! Band of Misfits and Wreck-it Ralph.
Three out of five were disney naturally. And Brave of all things won, the most forgettable underwhelming disney princess film to date. Seriously, how often is Merida brought up in any disney princess context? Meanwhile Paranorman was left in the dust.
I could go year by year, but I think I got my point across.
So how is the award not a joke?
