A list of puns related to "Joe Esposito"
OK β the third song and first (fully) English language song that shows up in the movie. Letβs get into it.
Lyrics
Frightened by a dream
You're not the only one
Running like the wind
Thoughts can come undone
Dancing behind masks
Just sort of pantomime
But images reveal
Whatever lonely hearts can hide
Lady, lady, lady, lady
Don't walk this lonely avenue
Lady, lady, lady, lady
Let me touch that part of you
You want me to
Lady, lady, lady, lady
I know it's in your heart to stay
Lady, lady, lady, lady
When will I ever hear you say
I love you
Time like silent stares
With no apology
Move towards the stars
And be my only one
Reach into the light
And feel love's gravity
That pulls you to my side
Where you should always be
Lady, lady, lady, lady
Don't walk this lonely avenue
Lady, lady, lady, lady
Let me touch that part of you
You want me to
Lady, lady, lady, lady
I know it's in your heart to stay
Lady, lady, lady, lady

The movie is about the rough road she must take to pursue her dreams. It was released in April 1983 in the USA and sometime between June and September for the majority of Europe, with the Italian release coming in September. There were three singles from the soundtrack, none of which were βLady, Lady Ladyβ. This might be a case of Luca taking some creative license on the timing so he could use the song. Itβs unlikely this song would have been popular enough (or even released yet) for it to show up in the Italian countryside in the summer of 1983. But, letβs give him a pass, because Flashdance was everywhere that summer.
But, why this song? Look at those lyrics. The song shows up in the dance scene in the movie, playing when Elio realizes that heβs not watching Chiara, but Oliver instead. Heβs learning that he has feelings for Oliver and heβs trying to process what all that means. In a very public place, no less. The non-chorus lyrics could be telling the story o
