A list of puns related to "Jill Clayburgh"
Although Jane Fonda won the 1978 Oscar for Best Actress for her performance in Coming Home, Jill Clayburgh also gave an outstanding performance that year in An Unmarried Woman. I like both performances and I have hard time trying to decide which actress gave the better performance. If I were an Academy voter that year, I don't know which of these two performances my vote would go to. Do you personally prefer one of these two performances over the other? and if so, why?
Over the course of 2020, my podcast co-hosts and I watched and reviewed all 168 domestic wide releases from 1980 on their 40th anniversaries. If anything appears to be missing, (Superman 2, Watcher in the Woods) it probably didnβt release wide in the U.S. until 1981. What follows is my personal ranking for the year and a bite-size summary of each film. Links to longer reviews are available in the comments.
#168 - Falling In Love Again
You wouldn't think that a script about a mid-life crisis written by an 18-year-old would be any good, and you'd be right.
#167 - Home Movies
Brian De Palma taught a film class and invited his students to write and produce a feature film. De Palma directed and called in favors from Kirk Douglas, Keith Gordon, and his then-wife Nancy Allen to star.
#166 - Loose Shoes
A collection of very low-budget comedy sketches from SNL alumni and adjacents. Mostly famous for an early appearance from Bill Murray.
#165 - Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown
Charlie Brown and friends head overseas, unsupervised, as foreign exchange students and uncover long lost details of Charlie's family history. Poorly animated, even for a Peanuts movie, and the last nail in the coffin for traditionally animated Peanuts films.
#164 - Running Scared
Two servicemen (Ken Wahl and Judge Reinhold) wrap up a tour of duty in Panama and stumble across plans for the Bay of Pigs invasion and are mistaken for foreign spies.
#163 - Middle Age Crazy
Wrongheaded mid-life crisis "comedy" starring Bruce Dern. A man worried about his age buys a luxury car and cheats on his wife to feel young again and we are expected to sympathize with him.
#162 - Nothing Personal
Romantic comedy that inexplicably features actual footage of baby seals being clubbed. Itβs embarrassing box office performance prevented Suzanne Somers from doing a second movie for 14 years.
#161 - First Family
Buck Henry is usually a terrific comedy writer, and the cast of this film are inarguably the funniest working actors and actresses of the time, but this misfires hard.
#160 - Up the Academy
An 80s teen comedy so bad that Mad Magazine took their name off it. Rick Baker provides a stunningly accurate and equally disturbing Alfred E Newman makeup job that bookends the film.
#159 - Loving Couples
Insanely the first of two wife-swapping comedies on the year to star Shirley MacLaine. This one's worse. Stars James Coburn, Susan Sarandon, and Stephen Collins.
#158 - The Hearse
Second haunted house

It really does, I swear!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
Know heβs great in βDeliverance,β βThe Longest Yard,β and βBoogie Nightsβ but the guy made a lot of bad films. βStarting Overβ is the best thing Iβve ever seen him in. A completely different kind of character for him (a kind of sad, introverted guy). He more than holds his own with co-stars Jill Clayburgh, Candance Bergen, etc.
Good film. Funny script by James L Brooks. Definitely worth a look if youβve never seen it.

from archived syndicated Pathem Puzzles
Love and Other Drugs (2010) by writer/director Edward Zwickwas ( Blood Diamond, the Last Samurai, About Last Night), starring a solid cast including, Jake Gyllenhaal (Spider-Man: Far from Home, Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain), Anne Hathaway (Ocean's Eight, Les MisΓ©rables, Alice in Wonderland), Oliver Platt (Chicago Med, the West Wing, Flatliners), Hank Azaria (the Simpsons, the Birdcage, Huff) , Jill Clayburgh (Bridesmaids, Semi-Tough, Starting Over), and Josh Gad (Frozen, Angry Birds, Pixels).
It's listed as a romantic comedy/drama. I remember it being a movie but not the movie itself, which makes me think it was not a stand out. Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway can be great in the right roles, but my inclination is that they didn't have great chemistry - which is the most important sink or swim characteristic in a rom-com.

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
