A list of puns related to "Jerry Herman"
Like... after a year of being in quarantine, you know what this world needs. Yes, a big, bright and brassy musical. But "Hello, Dolly"'s revival just closed, so it wouldn't work. And that's the time for Mame to open a new window onto a Broadway stage.
And what do you think about it?
There's a Parade in Town from Anyone can Whistle
Don't Rain on My Parade from Funny Girl
Before the Parade Passes By from Hello Dolly
Maybe I'm just easily amused and/or a huge nerd, but this fact is so awesome to me. I mean all three musicals opened within a few months of each other, and all three songs are pretty big moments in their respective show.
And the second two songs have become rather famous songs outside their shows. And Barbra Streisand also sang the latter two. While I don't think she ever sang "A Parade in Town" she does have a rendition of "Everybody Says Don't" from Anyone Can Whistle, so she must be involved in this conspiracy as well.
I'm not sure what this all means yet. But what a strange connection between three very different shows. I wonder if there's any other weird similarities between shows like this.
Any P/V or Full Scores of: -Milk and Honey -Grand Tour -Parade (not JRB) -Dear World (other than the Goodspeed version) -Hello, Dolly! (Other than the published P/V)
Looking for the actual score.
Does anyone have this. Unfortunately it is out of print
