Primarily, the defense seems to be that criticism of Sarah Jeong ignores context; specifically, the context being that Sarah was harassed by other people on twitter, etc, and so her racist tweets were responding to her harassers. Another defense seems to be that Sarah is a minority, and therefore insulting a majority demographic is understandable.
This doesn't make sense to me on many levels.
(1) Her responses weren't directed specifically toward some harasser - they were directed to white people, and white men. If someone insulted me viciously in person or online, I can understand making insulting remarks, even racist remarks, at that particular person, but why would I start spewing racist rants against an entire race?
(2) When I was a recent immigrant to the US (also Asian, like Sarah), attending an inner-city school, I was viciously bullied (verbally, physically) by black kids, often on the basis of my race. I recall that when black kids punches me and tells me to go back to where I came, of course I was tempted to respond with a racist insult back, like "why don't you go back to Africa", but I didn't, because I had black friends and responding to racism with racism isn't right.
I knew this as a 10 year old. Because we teach even young kids that racism isn't ok. So Sarah Jeong had racist mean things tweeted at her, and that's the context of her racist rants against white people, while I was beaten up daily, and still knew that racism wasn't ok. Why is Sarah Jeong exempted from the level of emotional maturity that we expect from 10 year olds?

I've got a ton of zucchini from my garden with more certainly to come. I thought I might make hobak jeon and freeze them for later. How practical is this? How badly will quality degrade in the freezer? I'm afraid they will get mushy and the coating will come off.
Are you sad that she didn't make it into Twice? What do you think of her now? Would you be annoyed if she was added to Twice? etc?
Sarah Jeong recently got hired as an editor for the New York Times and her anti-white tweet history has been called into question by conservatives, also questioning the NYT's decision to hire her. I haven't heard much progressive opinion on her tweets besides articles from the left-leaning new sources such as [THIS] (https://slate.com/culture/2018/08/the-ny-times-response-to-sarah-jeongs-controversial-tweets-blames-bigotry-on-many-sides.html) defending her. And the New York Times responded by defending their decision. But the articles seem to gloss over a few things that the gentleman in this [Twitter thread] (https://twitter.com/nickmon1112/status/1025437806775226368) pointed out about her timeline and that she was taking the "joke" a bit too far. Do you agree with the article or do you think this is a case of hand waving pathological hatred because she is a minority?
I missed yesterday's post, but great things continue to happen! We won the Sam Bee Unrigged Primary! The Harlem video was amazing, Aarika Samone has some kind of evil plan brewing today on Twitter that I think is targeted at Oprah. Doug Stanhope added his name to the endorsement list and there were tweets about Bill Murray being seen back stage at one of Chappelle's SC fundraising events. Thanks to all of you for all you hard work that has gotten us this far. Much more still to be done. Biggest challenge now is hitting this fundraising goal. I just invited my entire neighborhood to my house tonight to ask me questions about Yang. I surprising had immediate interest. Do everything you can to Yang people and convince then to pitch in a few bucks. TV commercials are crazy expensive!!!
The new campaign ad that uses a self-parking Tesla Model X to hammer home the point of how close automation is was freaking BRILLIANT. Watch it here:

We have a new end of month goal and if you thought that add was AMAZING, donate right now so we can start running this in NH, SC, NV, and even Super Tuesday states.
The rumors of the phonebanking system being saturated with volunteers is true, so THANK YOU! We need volunteers to join the calling support team to help balance the load. From the Campaign Support Slack:
>Our phone banking team has been growing at an incredible rate these last few days!**Listen up:The Calling Support team needs help assisting and motivating new callersYou probably want "Calling Support" to display in your slack handleLet's make a deal:**Follow the steps in this self on-boarding guide: http://bit.ly/y2020CallingSupportOnBoardPing me when you're done.
This is critical since phone banking is not even close to being over. Calls still matter. There is now a new strategy emphasis on getting Trump voters to caucus for Yang in order to move the Democratic party in a better direction. Also, we are starting to call New Hampshire voters as well. If you need some encourangement to make that first ever phone call for Yang, read this:
