The almost orchestral sound of the interments with the defined beats this music almost reminds me of dancing. Iβm looking for something light hearted like this and I donβt mind rap. Thank you for any suggestions!

Likewise wondering if anyone has recordings of him playing the full concert at the music hall of Williamsburg.
I`ve been looking for this but can`t find it anywhere. Love his music. Just found this subreddit and thought this would be the last resort. Does anybody have a copy that they would be able to sell?
Figured I'd clear out some stuff I'm not really listening to! Cheap cheap cheap, shipping to continental US (unless you're desperate, then we can figure something out!)
I put together a spreadsheet with a little more info and Discogs links. Everything is NM/NM unless specified otherwise, everything's been stored in sleeves and polyvinyl inner sleeves.
$3.50 for shipping.

Hey all,
Recent flurry of activity in this sub reminded me that I've been sitting on some info about the Jens Lekman collaboration that didn't make it onto Wildflower which I don't think is public knowledge (at least, I haven't read it anywhere else). I figure that y'all would probably be as interested as I was, and I don't think Jens would mind me sharing, so here goes.
Long story short, I reached out Jens through his website a while ago asking about some of the samples he used in his songs. After he replied, I cheekily asked a second question about his avalanches collab and he gave me a very interesting reply:
The avalanches - the track i did was βIf I Was a Folkstarβ, they sent me the same background and I did a different vocal take on it, with different lyrics of my own etc and chopped up the background a bit to better suit my melody. I have no idea if they will release that [...]. Maybe Iβll release my own version of it though, the lyrics turned out quite nice. They told me they were making a record which would be like a walk through a neighborhood, where every new street would have a new song. So I wrote an emotional song about a garage sale :)
So there you have it - hopefully one day we'll actually get to hear it :)
This week: Grandaddy!

Background by /u/themilkeyedmender
Jens Lekman is a Swedish singer-songwriter. He first broke through with his acclaimed 2007 album Night Falls Over Kortedala, which made heavy use of obscure orchestral and percussive samples. Since this landmark album, Lekmanβs work has been more sporadic, with five years passing between Kortedala and I Know What Love Isnβt (2012). Lekman had finished a follow-up record to this melancholic album in 2014, but scrapped it after he felt that the finished product was even more bleak, with Lekman saying it "sounded like he had given up". The following year, he launched a project he entitled Postcards, which saw him writing and releasing a new song each week of the year, with lots of creative interaction between Lekman and his fans. This more freeform and lyrically unorthodox approach to songwriting on Postcards carried over to the making of Life Will See You Now, which was released on February 17, 2017, through Secretly Canadian.
Review by /u/themilkeyedmender
Life Will See You Now is an album about fear. If that conjures up worries of an introverted, claustrophobic, anguished album, it might relieve you to hear that Life Will See You Now is always a warm, highly human listening experience. The album doesnβt shy away from dealing with fear and regrets, of course β the latter half especially of the album deals with anxieties and fears stemming from feelings of denial, and feelings of having missed out due to phobia. However, just as much time is dedicated to songs about fears being resolved, facing up to fear, and good memories associated with overcoming fear. Much of this album explores fear surrounding our human purpose. The opener βTo Know Your Missionβ is a bright, vivid song detailing a young Jens Lekmanβs encounter with a Mormon missionary on the streets of Gothenbu
... keep reading on reddit β‘Voting for the 2012 portion of the 2010-14 Chart nominees will begin on Thursday August 30th. In the ten days leading up to that date, we will have a daily campaign stop, where we will go through the albums a few at a time and let users discuss their thoughts on each album and debate the merits of it making the chart. There will be one top level comment per album, respond to that instead of making another top level comment. Be respectful of others opinions and take the time to listen to any albums that pique your interest.
Remember that of the group of 90 albums from 2012 we are examining, that 15 will get onto the chart in this round of voting, with those finishing #16-50 moving on to the final round of voting.

In season 2 episode 4 they featured a song that reminded my husband and I a ton of Jens Lekman's stuff. Then I was like...John Lakeman, Jens Lekman...
Sorry for the janky link, on mobile:
https://youtu.be/NIwIAbcLFhI
I also find it funny how the style of song is so similar...very narrative but with a deeper meaning. Maybe the creator of the show is a fan of Jens Lekman's stuff?
Also the subject matter of this song has a lot in common with season two lol.
Due to his your being cancelled, everyone's favourite Swedish songster is playing personal shows this week (Mar 23-29). He will call one fan at random and play an hour long show over Skype.

If anyone received either (or ideally both) these releases but arenβt digginβ em and would instead prefer some $$, hit me up. I would be willing to do $20 (plus shipping) for each. I might be willing to trade too though those prospects arenβt nearly as enticing to me. Details for each record below...
Songs: Ohia - Axes & Aces (Ultraviolet) I know this is the current record of the month so I obviously can wait til itβs been received.
Jens Lekman ββ Night Falls Over Kortedala (Blue Marbled)
Thank!
As part of the 2000s Essentials Voting, we will be taking 10 days to examine and discuss the albums and their merits to belong on the Essentials Chart. Start debates on what does and does not belong. There will be one top level comment per album, so I hope most of the discussion can be done per album as replies to the top level comment. Be respectful of others opinions and take the time to listen to any albums that pique your interest.
Remember that of the group of 81, that this round 30 will get onto the chart, with 10 more at a later point.
