I just thought I'd share this old article from 2014 where Jeffrey Bell explicitly says that they reported to Feige. So the show definitely started with approval or some amount of acknowledgement from Marvel Studios. Also, the Russos did say that they considered using the Defenders in Infinity War. And thanks to Markus and McFeely, we got our very first TV character to show up in a movie. That's because they basically wrote the character, but it's not out of the question that maybe a writer for Daredevil or SHIELD could work on a future MCU movie and want to include a character cameo from their previous shows. Just food for thought.
