A list of puns related to "Jeff Colby"
Even in season 1, Jeff was more important to the show but he has less screentime and less episodes than Culhane. Jeff is a Colby he should be more important than Culhane who has no connection to the Carringtons or Colby. I don't understand why Culhane is still on the show. In season 1 he was Fallon's on-again-off-again boyfriend. In season 2 he was part of the love triangle with Fallon and Liam. But in seasons 3 and 4, what is his purpose? The focus on the show should be on the Carringtons and the Colby's and side characters like Culhane, Sam, Kirby, and Liam shouldn't be taking up so much screentime. After the show got rid of Steven and Monica, Sam and Kirby are supposed to be Fallon's best friends so I understand their screentime. And Liam is Fallon's husband. But Culhane isn't really friends with any of the Carrington's or Colby's and he doesn't really have much going on. I feel like Culhane should have been moved to a recurring role or written off from the show. I don't know why the writers like Culhane so much.
In the first episode of Heroes VS Villains, Jeff says that Colby was so popular in The Australian Outback, fans of Survivor named their kids after him. I looked up the popularity of the name Colby over time, and it did in fact peak in 2001 (the year his first season aired). In 2000, 1,620 babies were named Colby, and in 2001, 3,979 were, making it the 99th most popular name for boys that year. Could be a coincidence, but given how popular the show was at that point, and how much people liked Colby, I think thereβs definitely correlation there.
Itβs a really minor detail, but it still confuses me. In what world is Texas the West Coast??
Am i the only one who thinks Colby would be a great replacement for Probst when he retires? He has hosted a show so he has some experience. And also, he is the original fan favorite. (They named babies and dogs after the man).
Am I the only one who is tired of the Jeff Colby storyline?
I feel like his situation should have began and ended in Season 1.
Hey everyone! I just finished listening to Lexβs RHAP episode, and he mentioned that before All Stars started filming Colby called him out of the blue to ask if he would work w him on the show. Lex also said he wouldnβt be surprised if Jeff had told Colby who was 1) on the season and 2) what tribes those people were on. Obviously this is still just speculation, but what do u guys think about it? I wasnβt aware that Colby and Jeff had any relationship outside of the show.
I am a very occasional lurker in here, so I hope this post is welcome.
I've been trying to find some lighter hearted TV during the pandemic, so I decided to watch the CW's Dynasty reboot. I remember the original, and started watching casually with some friends last year, and I kinda forgot about the reboot till I saw it on Netflix.
The fashion on the show is pretty killer. And it is a toss up on who is winning in terms of wardrobe: Fallon, Sam, or Jeff. The men are eye candy in the CW way, but the whole cast gets to rock a killer and luxe wardrobe. Jeff's outfits often steal the scene.
Here is a quick article on the style in the show. Here is a quick album I put together with a random assortment of photos from all 3 seasons.
So Jeff Colby is sort of a villain and he is supposed to be a tech billionaire. He wears a lot of Gucci and ocassionally wears Nigerian outfits and wax print fabrics. He is often seen in a perfectly cut suit, but his casual wear is on point as well. It is not often that men on TV get to have as much fun with style as the women, but this show bucks the trend. The actor, Sam Adegoke, is #stylegoals too. He is crazy stylish, here is his IG. Seriously, you should watch for the clothes.
What are your theories on how the poison Adam put in the paint is going to affect Colby, moving forward?
In my best ability to keep the season spoiler-free, Jeff asked Colby a simple question of if he was having fun. Colby's response got me thinking. He tells Jeff that this season isn't as fun as the ones he's previously been on due to the restraints of being unable to explore. He refers to a season where he used to go cliff diving off camera and said that he misses that aspect of the game. What I'm wondering is, what are some of the best examples of seasons where the cast did actually get a chance to explore and interact more with their surroundings?
There are the known really terrible ones, like Caramoan. But which are the best?
I think this may be the first confirmation in all of Survivor history that Jeff Probst eats food. Although we canβt 100% conform that he ate that slice of pizza, as we only saw him grab it, it seems highly likely that Jeff does in fact eat. I mean this IS Survivor season 41, this IS an entirely new show, and like Jeff said drop the 4 and keep the 1, but still I was not prepared for this. Was anyone else as shocked as me? I thought he had some alternative form of energy fueling him, am I alone?
He tries to make some deep life lesson out of literally every little thing to happen
In Season 1, the cast featured only 8 main characters. Season 2 had 10 main characters and now in present day we have 12 main characters. - If the cast were to be shortened to only 8 characters, what cuts would you make? Would you revive old characters like Celia and Steven, or would you promote recurring ones like Monica?
Try to think of the potential that characters have, instead of their storylines, since we know a lot of characters have great potential but have mediocre storylines...
Greetings Survivor Reddit. Just joined this subreddit today. I was introduced to this magnificent series over the Pandemic and wasted little time binging all 41 seasons. Honestly Iβm not sure why it took me 28 years into my life to finally watch Survivor but it was well worth the wait. I started off on Cagayan on Netflix last May and was hooked right off the bat. Next, I watched Pearl Islands and Cook Islands before deciding that I was going to do a proper 6-month binge of the show from season 1. At that point I began taking notes of the seasons and giving a numerical score which formed my initial list. The rankings are according to how much I enjoyed the seasons but I tried not to hold it against the seasons where I already knew the winner ahead of time due to spoilers (those seasons are denoted with an asterisk * ).
As a general note about my philosophy in Survivor, the winner is always worthy as the entire point of the game is to reach the finals and convince the jury to give you the votes. However, sometimes I might find a winner underwhelming due to an unsatisfactory narrative arc or not receiving proper attention by the edit. I personally feel like the most recent seasons have been too Advantage and Idol heavy. I would say I prefer a good storyline to a flashy move at tribal.
Feel free to comment and criticize my list as I am sure plenty of people will disagree. I am sure long-time fans will have way more knowledge and insight than me. From what I understand from other rankings I have seen online my rankings for Borneo and Fiji are probably sacrilegious. Without further ado here are my rankings of all 41 seasons of survivor:
While I admit this season might have a slight advantage since I watched it first, I still feel confident placing it first. Cagayan has a great cast with consistent entertainment all the way through; from the brains tribe debacle at the beginning to some shocking blindsides in the post-merge. The last three immunity challenges were absolute nail biters and ultimately the season had a great winner although it only happened due to a highly questionable decision by Woo/manipulation from Tony. Tony finely walks the line between genius and insane which makes for a hell of a ride.
What a great theme for a season that incorporated an absolute all-star cast and started with a banger of a pilot episode. I am normally a post-merge guy but the pre-merge
... keep reading on reddit β‘Let's start with a dumb question: why isn't every voted out contestant a part of the jury? Why do we usually start the jury around the merge?
Even if you don't know the answer, you can probably guess it. You want each juror to have a certain level of familiarity with the final 2 or 3. Having Sekou Bunch decide the winner of Survivor Cook Islands between Yul and Ozzy would be pretty stupid, because he literally never interacted with those two people. His vote would be entirely based on what he saw from his place on the jury, not on what he saw in the game. What's fun about a Survivor jury is that it ISN'T impartial, each juror comes with a personal bias.
But let's expand on that idea a little bit. In order to vote for a winner, you should have a certain level of familiarity with the final 2 or 3. But then wouldn't it make sense that your vote carries more weight if you are more familiar with the final 2 or 3? Let's look at Survivor 41 as an example: people like Heather and Ricard were on the beach essentially the entire time. They have a much more clear idea of how the endgame shook out and how the final three ended up at final tribal council than just about anyone. Someone like Tiffany, on the other hand, was voted out early in the merge and spent 10 of the 26 days in the game sitting on the jury, only privy to what happens at tribal council (and whatever is discussed at Ponderosa). Does it make sense that Tiffany's vote at final tribal council carries the same weight as Ricard's or Heather's?
I personally don't think it does. I think it would be much more fair to weigh each jurors vote based on the order they were voted out. So to continue to use Survivor 41 as an example, Tiffany was the first juror, so her final tribal council vote would be worth 1. Naseer was the second juror, so his final tribal council vote would be worth 2. We keep going all the way to Heather, who was the eighth juror, so her final tribal council vote would be worth 8. Under that system, Erika wins the game by a final vote of 30-6-0. Not that interesting, but it shouldn't be. Erika won in a runaway, this system reflects that.
It gets a little more interesting when you start going through the history of the show:
Rich beats Kelly 19-9
Tina beats Colby 16-12
Ethan beats Kim 22-6
Neleh beats Vecepia 15-13, backed by both Kathy and Paschal with 6 and 7 point votes for Neleh
Brian beats Clay 22-6
Jenna beats Matthew 22-6
Sandra beats Lil 25-3

Hey again /r/mls I'm back with part four of the state soccer teams. For those of you seeing this for the first time, I began a project last summer where in a made-up universe, each U.S. state (commonwealth for the people in KY, MA, PA, and VA) had their own state soccer team. I have done Part I revised a few weeks ago, and now I am on to part four!
To get read-up on everything, check out Part 1.

Thereβs often a stereotype associated with the executives who run our favorite teams: whip-smart young men with penchants for advanced mathematical modeling and Ivy League degrees to their names. But how does this archetypal image of MLBβs GM and PoBO sphere hold up in reality?
Scouring Wikipedia articles, LinkedIn pages, media guides, and the depths of local newspaper profiles, Iβve assembled a list of the top ~120 baseball executivesβpulling 3-5 from each teamβand their educational and occupational backgrounds. The job roles I pulled included presidents of baseball operations, general managers, vice presidents, assistant general managers, directors of operations, directors of analytics, and chief research and development folks.
I tracked their undergraduate majors, undergraduate schools, graduate degrees, graduate institutions, as well as executivesβ first experience working in baseball and any prior non-athletic career experience.
First, letβs look at undergraduate majors. From most frequent to least frequent, executives studied: economics (16), communications (8), history (8), business administration (7), finance (5), mathematics (5), english (4), political science (4), sports management (4), psychology (4), accounting (2), American studies (1), biomedical engineering (1), cognitive science (1), computer science (1), east Asian studies (1), eastern languages and civilization (1), education (1), engineering physics (1), food and nutrition (1), art history (1), industrial engineering (1), industrial labor relations (1), information technology (1), journalism (1), kinesiology (1), latin classics (1), mechanical engineering (1), molecular biophysics (1), physical education (1), public policy (1), sociology (1), sports marketing (1), statistics (1).
I wasnβt able to find majors for some of the older executives, but this seems like a broad enough sampling.
Now, for undergraduate colleges and universities. From most frequent to least frequent, executives attended: Harvard (7), Yale (7), Princeton (5), Dartmouth (3), Haverford (3), Northwestern (3), Notre Dame (3), UC Berkeley (3), Cornell (2), George Mason (2), Georgetown (2), MIT (2), Tufts (2), Tulane (2), UC Davis (2), UC San Diego (2), UChicago (2), UPenn (2), University of Illinois

- 70,000 people applied
- 800 were chosen to interview at different states and than 48 were chosen to go to final casting
- The 48 were wittled down to 26, it is rumored that one of these failed the psychological test so 25 went to the final interview
- Glenn Garcia from Big Brother 18 was among the top 25
- Tina was initially cut but the woman who was cast in her archetype dropped out after being hesitant of skydiving (how they were originally supposed to get on the island), this was despite Gretchen attempting to talk her into it.
- After being selected, each of the 16 contestants were sent to a different state with limited money and information on how to find the place to practice skydiving (sort of like an amazing race challenge it sounds like)
- Skydiving was eventually cancelled, which thrilled Mad Dog, who was terrified to do it
- They found out who were going to be on their tribes prior to pre-game Ponderosa (called "the ranch" back than) as they had them fly on a plane there and had them sit on opposite sides of one another
- Journals were not allowed as a luxury item this season. The only reason why Amber got one was because there was a mix-up with her luxury item at the ranch pre-season
- They were VERY strict about no talking/ ZERO interaction between the contestants pre-season
- Kel was rumored to have sewn beef jerkey into his underwear before going on the plane and was stopped by security
- For clothing, they were allowed one short sleeve shirt, one long sleeve, one pair of shorts, one pair of long pants, 2 pairs of shoes, 1 fleece, 1 raincoat, underwear, socks, and jewelry
- They were given nice Reebok (sponsor) backpacks to pack their stuff in only to later be given old, beat up ones to put it in prior to boarding the plane
- The entire season was delayed because Kel brought with him extra shoes on the plane among other unpermitted items and had to have his stuff rechecked before taking off
- Mad Dog had to use the bathroom in the plane and did so in a plastic bag
- They flew the plane around multiple times before landing, which is what got everybody sick
- Tina immediately used her "mom" strategy on the plane by offering others her nausea bag

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Which survivor contestants are most likely to play a 4th time? Below are the possibilities (players who have played 3 times):
Aubrey, Amanda, Amber, Andrea, Jeremy, Colby, Coach, Sarah Lacina, Ethan, Joe Anglim, Jerri, Russell, Wentworth, Tony, Tina, Malcolm, JT, Penner, James, Stephanie LaGrossa, Candice, Ciera, and Jeff Varner
(While there are people I'd like to see back, I don't think there are any two time players that would come back two more times)
Personally, I think contenders are: Malcolm, and Ciera. Wentworth with a close outside chance. Coach as a long shot.
The Current "Four Timers" Club: Rupert, Ozzy, Tyson, Sandra, Cirie, Parvati, (and the only person to play 5 times) Boston Rob
*For this I am only talking about US survivor*
Some background: I watched Cagayan on Netflix at the end of July 21β and was instantly addicted. The drama is just so good, I think I finished it in 3 days.
I remember watching a season of survivor when I was little so I asked my mom what that was and she said it was season 1. Donβt remember it all lol. My husband apparently used to watch it all the time when he was young too and actually remembered a lot of the older seasons but he said he stopped watching it once it got "so strategy focused." This kind of spurred me in my journey of wanting to watch all 40 seasons from the beginning to see how the show has evolved because I didn't realize the first seasons didn't have all the idols and backstabbing and crazy stuff going on.
I started watching from season 1 at the end of July and finished mid-December. So yes, some would call me a TV junkie but oh well. It became a nice background show for me to watch while I was building something or doing dishes.
Here are some of my general thoughts. And honestly, there's a lot I can't recall off the top of my head just because of how quickly I was going through this magnificent show. Here we go, I'm gonna try to limit each season to two sentences so this doesn't get insanely long.
Borneo-- Incredibly slow paced compared to the first season I watched, but what a fun (if not problematic at times) time capsule of 2000 was.
Australian Outback-- How could colby not win!? He was perfect in every way, loved all the challenges that the outback brought to them, the fire ones were especially wild (considering I live in the Sierra Nevada foothills where wildfires are a very real threat constantly). Also literally had no idea this is where Elizabeth Hasselback came from.
Africa-- fantastic season, cannot believe how real the predator threats were! Big Tom, while he would not be allowed on tv today, was hysterical.
Marquesas-- hated Rob, was so happy he was voted out, also didn't like Kathy, she was too high and mighty for me. a little too much religion centered for me, but hey, it was the early 2000s and I can still respect that people bond over that.
Thailand-- cannot believe they allowed the Ted/Ghandia thing to happen, let alone air it. also, justice for shii ann
The amazon-- loved rob, loved how they gave matt the crazy guy edit, and loved the men vs women beginning. was this the one where they had the swimming tank so the alligators (crocs? I cant remember) wouldn't eat them? wild.
Does anyone else find watching Survivor emotionally draining?
This is definitely an unpopular opinion, but I wanna get to the bottom of it. Be warned, this post is kind of all over the place and there are some spoilers. Obviously I love Survivor, and I have ever since I saw Cagayan and rooted for Spencer. I was a bit upset that Tony won, but now looking back at it I realize that Survivor is about manipulating others, so Tony did deserve to win. Two months ago, I decided that I wanted to watch it from the beginning, so I started at S1 and made it all the way to S24 (One World), watching a whole season every day or every other day.
I just finished One World, and Iβm realizing that binging this show has been emotionally draining for me. Iβm not sure if this is because I am essentially watching a season every other day, staying up late at night to finish each one. I am a fairly emotional guy, and there have been many moments where I felt genuinely annoyed by what I was watching. I donβt watch TV too often, but maybe reality TV is just not for me (I know Survivor barely qualifies as reality TV). I find myself constantly rooting for the underdogs in many seasons, such as Fabio in Nicaragua. Some moments that have been difficult for me to watch were:
Everyone wants a second chance 2.0 season but what about a 3rd chance, then I thought what would a 4th chance season be like? so here are all the players who have played at least 3 seasons without winning:
Ozzy
Cirie
Aubry
Amanda Kimmel
Rupert
Andrea
Colby
Coach
Joe
Jerri Manthey
Russell Hantz
Wentworth
Malcolm
Penner
James
Stephenie LaGrossa
Candice
Ciera Eastin
Jeff Varner (Be surprised if he gets asked back)
Who do you think would win?
Colby's decision to take Tina to the final 2 instead of Keith is always used in the CBS reels of "Survivor's dumbest moves." I'm pretty sure Jeff has called it a dumb move, and many others. But honestly, I don't think it was that dumb.
It seemed to me that Colby had a very good chance to win against Tina. That's obvious since the vote was so close. She only beat him by one vote. Tina was not someone who was guaranteed to beat him (i.e. Tony was a lock to beat Woo but Woo kept him anyway). I'm not sure Colby actually made a "dumb" move, but simply lost the will to fight for the win at the end.
It was bizarre watching Australian Outback recently and seeing Colby seem to lose all his fight at FTC, especially compared to Tina who advocated for herself well. Colby didn't even give a closing statement. I'm not sure if this was because he thought Tina deserved it more than him so he couldn't bring himself to fight against her, or if he felt guilty for all the people he voted out, or what.
Anyway, it was my impression that Colby didn't lose because of a "dumb" move in taking Tina to the end. He lost because he didn't fight for jury votes.
I know it was only Season 2 and the castaways weren't experts on Survivor but some of the moves they made just blow me away. The biggest one for me at the moment was at the final 7. Why, oh why, didn't Amber and Elisabeth make a move together and vote out Keith or Tina with Nick and Rodger?? They knew Colby, Keith, and Tina were running the game and they just let them do it and waited around to be voted out by them. I know the extreme hunger had to have defeated some of their will to fight and strategize but it makes no sense to me other than that. Why let the power players stay in control if you have a chance to take them out?? I want to gently shake them through the TV screen, like, come on, you four!! Especially since Kucha had been outnumbered and now they had a chance to flip things around- why wouldn't you? Some other kind of dumb moves in my opinion------ despite Jerky Gate, Ogakor voting off physically strong Kel first. Jeff jumping off of that post in the first individual immunity challenge. He knew the vote would tie and that Ogakor knew he had a vote cast against him. Why would you jump off? The whole tribe's fate was in his hands, not just his own fate. He let his whole tribe down. Then Kucha should have voted Jerri instead of Colby at the first TC after the merge. They had to have seen by then that she could be abrasive and may have gotten some previous votes. They only seemed to vote for Colby because they found him threatening. Then Keith foolishly seemed to insist on voting Jerri off before Elisabeth, despite Colby insisting that was a bad idea. That could have and should have majorly backfired. Also, building the merged tribe's camp by the river and not up in the trees turned out to be a terrible idea. Colby voting out Keith instead of Tina was a bad idea if he wanted a pretty surefire win, but I get the fact that him and Tina saw themselves as a team and they had really bonded out there. Still, a million dollars is a million dollars, and he gave it up for friendship which is admirable, but Survivor is a game and he had it in the bag and let it go. End rant.
He obviously didn't want to persist in the challenge, and didn't want to do his best. Although he said in the reunion show that it was because of the lack of adventure fun, I feel that this is not enough to explain his negativity in the game. His attitude is really terrible. He even smashed Jeff when he didnβt want to taste chocolate. Jeff, who has always liked Colby, couldnβt help but retorted like "It will start when I want to start."something.
