Points of interest on the card

The Emma Jean postcard is perhaps one of Pixar‘s biggest mysteries. We see the postcard in Carl’s house in Up, we see it in one of the trailers for Toy Story 3 on Andy’s wall and in the box with the picture of Andy and his toys, it was removed from the wall in the final film but it was kept in the box scene at the end of the film (so it still counts). Lastly, there is the texture image of the postcard that seems to have come out of nowhere.

Now let’s look at the details of the postcard, thanks to the texture image. The print on the right side reads:

There’s smaller writing on the left side that reads:

OLD FAITHFUL IN ERUPTION YELLOWSTONE PARK

Not the heaviest, the highest or the most erratic geyser. Old Faithful is just what it’s name implies, regular and faithful in both time of eruption and character of it. And it electrifies and uplifts the beholder and awes him.
On the far left it reads:

Printed in Salt Lake City, Utah. Made in the U.S.A.

Plus the time stamp reads:

Yellowstone National Park, WY

The card in question was made in Salt Lake City, Utah, came from Yellowstone Nation Park, written by Emma Jean, who was at the park with someone else, and was sent to Carl and Ellie at their home in Bloomington. A common misconception I seem to have noticed is that people think that this postcard came from the location of the postal code. The postal/zip code is supposed to be where Carl and Ellie live, like the 18 on their address is on their house. Unfortunately

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
