Jan Michael Vincent Puns

Helloooo!

I want to give sub assembly painting a try but I don't know how you all deal with the models when they're in pieces, how do you mount them to prime them?

I've tried crocodile clips but Warhammer models don't really have anywhere to hold the model that won't also prevent primer getting to that part of the model it's attached to and most parts have a very small area that doesn't need primer so it's hard to find somewhere decent to locate the clio. I've tried priming the model in one piece, held together with Blu-Tack but the pieces usually move around or fall off the model all together.

I considered pinning each piece and using that to hold the pieces while they're primed and painted but I don't have anything to then hold the piece in place while it's painted (anything I do in modelling has to be achievable with one hand because only one of mine works) and I don't drink so I don't have access to corks from wine bottles, although I can buy some if that's what people use; pinning each piece everytime I paint a new model seems like a lot of unnecessary work (remember, one hand) but I also think painting each piece individually will help with my over all quality (it's that hand again 😂) but if that's the best way to do it, so be it.
