A list of puns related to "Jack Irons"
Tires have turned out to be the weak link for my 2017 Volt. Man, I love driving this car, but blow a tire and you are screwed. This happened to me a few years back, on a road trip. And it's happened again. I forgot the inflater kit has an expiration date. And, of course, the car's got no jack or tire iron (makes sense, as there's no spare).
It's been snowing in Western Washington and the roads are a mess. I drove some family to the airport and almost got there before I hit a chunk of concrete in the lane, disguised as a piece of ice. That blew a tire. I limped into a hotel parking lot, put the family on a shuttle for the rest of the trip to the airport, and set about figuring my next course of action. That's when I discovered my inflater's goop had expired (what's the odds it'd fix this damage, anyway?) and all the tow trucks are busy with other weather-related mahem.
At least I was near an airport. A rental car is so much cheaper than a tow, anyway. I made it the 70 miles back home. Tomorrow I'll return with the scissor jack and tire iron from an old-fashioned car with a real spare tire in it, pull the wheel and get it fixed.
. . . then I'll buy new inflater goop and pray there's a long time before I find myself in this fix again.
End of rant.
I still love to drive the Volt.

I feel his tenure in the band is under appreciated. Sure, Dave Abbruzzese was a better drummer but he did NOT fit in with the band musically or personality wise. He not only had drastically different tastes than the other members and was more comfortable with fame but songs like Glorified G were written because he used to bring guns in the studio.
Jack Irons was also a phenomenal drummer with both Pearl Jam and Red Hot Chili Peppers and he fit in with the band musically and personally more than Dave did. Jackβs drumming on No Code and Yield is pretty phenomenal too.

Jack Irons, the man, the myth, the legend. A pillar of alternative rock, itβs this man who drummed for the original Red Hot Chili Peppers, cofounded cult band Eleven, played an instrumental role in two significant periods of Pearl Jamβs career, as well as collaborating with artists such as Todd Rundgren, Neil Young, Joe Strummer, and Les Claypool.
β
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jack began life as just a nice Jewish boy. Who also loved drums, using his familyβs cutlery as drum sticks and playing along to the radio. With enough persuasion, and wanting to spear their utensils, Jackβs parents would soon buy their son a drum set and enroll him in a drumming class. And lucky for Jack, heβd quickly find some companions for his musical journey; first, he would meet Hillel Slovak and Michael Balzary, dubbed βMike B. The Fleaβ and then just βFleaβ thanks to his hyperactive nature. After the three moved on from Junior High, Jack would meet two more friends at Fairfax High in Alain Johannes and Anthony Kiedis.
β
While at Fairfax High, Jack, Alain, and Hillel formed a band with schoolmate Todd Straussman called Chain Reaction. Which was then called Anythm. And eventually, What Is This. Band names are easier said than done, folks. Upon becoming dissatisfied with Toddβs bass playing, Hillel pulled trumpet playing Flea and started showing him pointers on bass. With Flea taking Toddβs spot, the band really started taking off in Los Angelesβ local scene. What Is This built a name for themselves as a tight, powerful live outfit, one which pointed to a bright, promising future. What Is This? was the sure thing.
β
That all changed one night. It was 1983 at The Rhythm Lounge, with roughly thirty people in attendance to see Gary and Neighborβs Voices. An opening band was needed to warm the crowd up, so Jack, Hillel, and Flea jammed up a storm as Anthony rapped out the lyrics to what would become βOut In LAβ and βGet Up And Jumpβ. To the foursomeβs surprise, theyβd get a rapturous response, prompting another spot, then another and another. As Tony Flow And The Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem progressed, the band started writing more songs to fill out a set, and they decided to change their name. Tony Flow And The Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem was a bit much. Taking after various blues and jazz outfits, they became The Red Hot Chili Peppers and would eventually score a deal with Enigma/EMI. Just one problem, though.

I have seen a 200lb man jump on a tire iron to no avail. Sliding a good length of hollow pipe over the end of the tire iron can create enough leverage to remove stubborn lug nuts no matter what your physicality is.
