A list of puns related to "J. Carrol Naish"
I remember Troy mentioning it but can't recall if there's going to be one or not, would love to hear what's happening moving forward!
Only thing I love more than a throbbing cliffy or nonsensical fan fumble is smashing myself to bits on my bike. If youβre down letβs ride. Made this account just to find another man willing to go around in public in spandex. This is for Grant, but also for any other one else who wants to get some miles in.

DM me if your interested and Iβll kick you my Strava account.
Never thought Iβd be looking for cycling buddies on a pathfinder podcast Reddit but here I am.
Letβs ride!

Hey all, it's your fellow GCN fans at Uncharted North again!
Hope you all had some sweet holidays and were lucky enough to be even half as psyched up as Troy always is!
We're popping in again to shamelessly plug our show Stemming the Tide, where we are playin through Paizo's Abomination Vaults AP! We're only on a bi-weekly release at the moment, but have already reached 1100 listens and downloads over 8 episodes and we're pretty stoked about that!
We're a small crew from Canada (accents and all), running with only 3 PCs and a big focus on roleplay and custom storytelling intertwined!
We'd love to thanks anyone who has listened already and hope others will give us a try (GCN is clearly a big influence for us)! And we'd love to hear more feedback from everyone!
Check us out on all the major podcast platforms and more. And feel free to hit us up on our public Discord server for more active interaction and discussion about all sorts of things!
Cheers!
-The Uncharted North Team
P.S. Soooo pumped for the return of Stream of Blood! Our GM Freeman actually plays a bit of Tin Whistle, so it holds a little extra special space in his heart!
I pulled up Ep 300 pt 1 today, excited to hear the evolution of the story, and was blown away by Troys introduction. I immediately paused it and went back to take some notes.
Troy opens with what feels like, to me, a very heartfelt thank you to the supporters. He says that this episode is a
> Love letter to those of you who enjoy the stories we tell and the fun we have at the table
He gets into a recap of the Covid Era, and how he was forced to make drastic changes to weather the storm. In spite of that, 2020 was the networks most successful year yet. Which is great news.
Troy then addresses the stream of content, and the concern about burnout. He says that the amount of content wonβt change, but that there need to be big changes to continue it. My feeling is that this alludes to bringing on more cast and having a new slate of shows sans the OG crew.
**Then we come to the heart of the message. **
Iβll be honest, after the last few months I never expected to hear this from Troy. All the messaging, all the new content, has been very clear that video is now primary. So when Troy says
> I want to ensure that all the content we put out is of the Highest Quality. Both for our tried and true audio listeners, who are the backbone of the company , but also for those who choose to watch our videos
I was elated!
I was very melancholic about the end of giantslayer and GCP 1.0, as it felt like the end of my ability to engage with the GCN content slate.
But this hard pivot is both incredibly exciting and surprisingly conciliatory.
Troy talks about appreciating some patience and trust.
And then the most exciting content announcement.
GCP 1.5
Troy alludes to a new announcement, and places it as a juxtaposition to 2.0. This, to me, seems most likely an audio first product. Designed for those who arenβt on board with a 2.0 that seems to be nearly exclusively a video product.
I canβt tell you how excited I am, and how pleasantly taken aback I was by Troys tone and shift. For those of us deeply worried about the video transition this intro should alleviate any concerns.
I am upping my patreon. I hope all of you who shared my concerns do so as well.
Hey friends! In lieu of a secret Santa this year, we over in the FB fan group have created a holiday donation drive to benefit UNICEF. If you're able and would like, please join us in raising money for those less fortunate.
This is a really odd thing to be posting here. It's GCN related but if it doesn't belong here feel free to remove it.
Wicked Empire is breaking my car. It sounds crazy but I'm not sure what other conclusion to draw. I mostly listen to podcasts in the car, probably 80% of the time. That includes most of GCN's shows. I drive a 2014 Ford Fusion and literally every time I get in the car with Wicked Empire playing it crashes the Sync system (Ford's infotainment software) and forces a restart. Every single time without fail. After the restart it works fine until I restart the car. This doesn't happen with any of the GCN's other podcasts.
Has anyone else ever run into anything like this before or got any theories on what might be causing it?
Have recently gotten into Androids and Aliens and also some New Game Who Dis but am curious as to where the term βthe Naishβ came from. I assume most people here do?
Live on Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/theglasscannon at 8:00 ET
We'll keep this thread updated with all announcements and drops from the address tonight.
Glass Cannon Live will resume with shows this year:
Raiders of the Lost Continent & Legacy of the Ancients will continue their current back-to-back schedule, with Season 3 of Raiders starting next.
New Game, Who Dis? has games and casts lined up through September with games including Mork Borg, Call of Cthulhu, Marvel Superheroes, and Warhammer 40K.
Get in the Trunk! will be returning for a 3rd season in Summer 2021, with Grant Berger stepping in as the handler.
A collaboration with Jared Logan (Stream of Blood) of the Dune RPG will be debuting in the Fall of this year.
A Glass Cannon produced Blades in the Dark series will be debuting in the Winter of this year.
Now that the 80K goal has been passed on Patreon, a D&D 5e show will launch with Jared Logan (DM), Sydney Ammanuel, Noura Ibrahim, Ross Bryant, and Clare Grant this Summer. This will be released both on Twitch and as a freed podcast.
The Network will be releasing Pride Month shirts & hats, with a large percentage of proceeds going to the Trevor Project.
Glass Cannon Con - a live update will be coming Wednesday, June 2nd from the host city for the convention. A large team has been and continues to be assembled.
Androids & Aliens will be on an indefinite hiatus upon completion of Dead Suns. This is partly to focus more on short-term shows as opposed to long-form.
The Glass Cannon Podcast 2.0, after Giantslayer is completed, will move to Pathfinder 2e. The cast will be expanding, and the show will move to Twitch (pre-recorded & produced) in addition to podcast form. It will be a completely original world, adventure, and campaign setting. The adventure will be created with a team that will include Tanya Depass, Jason Buhlman, Connie Chang, Brandon Hodge, Gabe Hicks, and Dave Kang.
Updated VIP Package for GCP Live:
I was wondering if the the is a compendium of all the suffixes the cast members (mainly Troy and Joe) use.
On top of my mind there are:
- ...oni
-...izle (i'm still laughing at APizle as short for AP)
-..uski
However I'm sure that there gotta be more but I can't remember those.
Short version: computer died on Monday (Logic board fratzed out) and that had all the info on it.
Also, started a new job on Tuesday, and itβs been kicking my ass, so I have little to no energy when I get home.
I will do my best to force myself to get everything together, and I will hopefully have it up tonight around 8 or 830.
My apologies for the delay. It is coming, I promise.
Hello, posting here to ask if anybody happens to know how to get in contact with the author Peter J Carroll? Perhaps an email address or whatever may be. Please let me know if you could help out with this information, and thank you very much!
EDIT: Troy posted a response, edited into post at the bottom for visibility.
AnA
Hard disagree, and confused frankly. It would fit a seasonal model as well as Raiders or Legacy did.
This to me makes much more sense, and feels far more honest. I loved AnA at times, but it really became the bottom of the totem pole quality wise imo.
Joe βSomething had to get cutβ¦. To avoid burnoutβ
Would have been cancelled without a pandemic
GCP reset.
Transition is about creative control and ownership.
Troy said he wants to convert the current GCP into what he always wanted to do, which is television.
This was what I assumed. Troy sees an opportunity to leverage the success built on podcasting into a pseudo television show.
Joe references Gilletteβs revamp in the 90βs as an example of how businesses must evolve proactively. As an MBA myself I certainly agree. The question is always whether the change is primarily, read: almost exclusively, driven by quality concerns. I donβt think these are, I think they view inclusion as a moral imperative (which I have no opinion on and am not disagreeing with) and Twitch as a way for Troy to move towards television. Hopefully that does result in Quality Enhancement, but that would be coincidental rather than intentional.
I am still in wait and see mode, but Troys statements really just solidified my feeling that as a podcast listener the future just isnt for me. Which is Aok. this is Troys baby, and how he chooses to use it is his perogative and I really hope it works.
EDIT:
Just in case it wasnβt obvious these are a handful of takeaways from a 90 min podcast that stuck with me. The commentary I posted is, I think obviously, my own opinion which is naturally biased. Iβm a podcast listener, and I do feel like my patreon dollars are no long

Heard the neighbors singing a Christmas carol a few minutes ago. I was moved to write a new version of my own:

Man goes missing in 1961. He has 4 children. Mother says he left because he didnβt want to be a family man and she didnβt report his death.
40 years later his son bought their house and over years tore up the basement floor and found the body of their father.
The mother had remarried the handy man who worked on their house. Dad died of blunt trauma to the head and buried. Thereβs no official suspect.
My take, the wife murdered the husband and the handy man covered it by burying him. Iβd also be curious for a Dna test of the youngest child.
What are your opinions?

Just checked the website and didn't see anything. If not, should we? Just curious.
My personal dark horse guess is that Troy is going to tell us they're officially partnering with Stream of Blood. What else can you all think Troy might say tonight? The company's come a long long way since the last State of the Naish, I can't imagine what he's got for us.
A save the date for Troy watching Jurassic Park? π
With New World launching in a few weeks, who all is planning on playing? Wanna make a Naish settlement?
