Hey y'all! I'm aware that these "atlernatives" are herresy to anyone who drives a Landcruiser,
Anyways, I'm interested in one of these vehicles. Which is best? Landcruisers are really hard to come by in my area, but i've heard that the others are pretty good too. I'd be dailying it for awhile but using it for going up to the ski resort or an afternoon going up in the mountains on atv or back roads.
Nor sure of this is the right place for that but here it goes,
I'm looking to buy a car, similar to Suzuki Jimny or Isuzu Trooper since they were my first options I was looking at. Aka I want a car that is compact enough and isn't horrible in non-city terrain. Any advice or opinions are welcome.
Really dig the look of this car, wondering if it would be worth it at this price.

Edit: thanks for the tips everyone, I am leaning towards vacume leak. I will let you know after this weekend.
Edit 2: no obvious air leaks, I noticed now that the engine has a louder vacuum style sound to it. From start up, with out putting it in gear and after having sat for a day, the engine is surging a small amount. Slight increase in RPM then decrease and repeat.
Edit 3: SOLVED! Idle air control valve. 5 minute fix, once the part arrived (I live in Hawaii).
Earlier this summer I finished a round of service on my families old 93 isuzu trooper including timing belt, water pump, front main seals, tie rods and ball joints, CV boots, front diff pinion bearing, wheel + axle shaft bearings/seals, alternator + PS pump and the oil pan gasket. All is well and it was leak free for a couple months but now I appear to have a leak coming from the new oil pan gasket. Dropping the oil pan involves removing the steering center link, front differential, and bell housing cover among other things, so I am not too keen to do it again. I did NOT use any kind of sealant on the gasket which I am now slightly regretting. I am curious whether retorquing the pan is standard procedure when a cork gasket is used? Was it a mistake to install the gasket without any additional sealant? Its worth noting i torqued all the pan bolts to spec at 81 inch pounds. Many of the pan bolts are very difficult to access even with the diff removed so I thought I'd ask here whether a pan retorque may be worth it before I drop my bellohousing cover again and buy the swivel extension ill need to get at the bolts with the diff in place Thanks
I have a 94 trooper that has a bad tick and I’ve been trying to figure out what needs to be fixed, I use 95 octane but I’m in Colorado and do need to do an oil change. If anyone has ideas for causes or fixed please let me know!
