A list of puns related to "Ironkey"
What is your guys and girls pick for security usb
I'm looking for a hardware-encrypted USB stick to securely store recovery seeds for my crypto wallets. The managed / enterprise version allows to remotely deactivate those keys which seems to be a nice-to-have feature in case of losing it or getting it robbed. Do you need to have internet access in order to access/decrypt its data?
I want to save some files onto an iron key after doing some work in tails. The iron key has to be setup through an exe file which I can't open without wine. I'm not sure how to configure wine for tails though.
So I'm just learning about Whonix and VM's in general. I use windows as my daily OS. I'm thinking about storing some private information on an Ironkey and then accessing the information through Whonix, running via VirtualBox.
The question I have, if I plug in my Ironkey, will Whonix be able to detect that it's been plugged in and if the answer to that is yes then if I enter my ironkey password in Whonix to read the encrypted data, can windows also read the file or since the ironkey's password has only been entered into Whonix, it would still be encrypted from windows point of view? Could any of the data inside my Ironkey somehow leak into windows?
I anticipate uploading the data on my Ironkey into a trusted website and then having another separate password that I will enter which allows the data to be read.
Could an attacker somehow infect my Whonix VM so that when I upload the data + password to it, that they would be able to access it? Could windows detect any of the things I'm doing inside Whonix?
Thank you in advance. Whonix is still new to me.
I can't remember the password, but I have nothing special on the flash drive eith. Could I somehow just delete the Ironkey software off the drive and use it as a non-secure usb?
[Update] : I tried. He's dead, Jim.
Any personal experience with secure (password protected) USB drives? What do you recommend and why?
Anyone have experience using a USB 3 IronKey Windows-to-Go setup as an encryption setup vs. using something like BitLocker on local workstations? Performance issues? Management issues? Other headaches? Good idea? Bad idea?
So what do people think about using an Ironkey device to store crypto wallets π€π€
So, I changed the password on my email account to a randomly generated one from my IronKey. The only problem is that the password didn't get stored in ironkey, due to my own idiocy.
Now I'm locked out of my email. I have no secondary email address to get a password reset link and I always provide gibberish answers to my security questions to make it harder to break into my account. On top of which, I never thought to associate a cell phone with my account.
This is now working against me. I tried calling customer support but they told me there is no other way to verify my account. I asked to speak to a supervisor but the guy just told me there was nothing his supervisor could do.
Is there any other identifying piece of information that can be used to get into my account? Or am I just screwed? This is the account I used for everything. If I can't get into this account do I just have to start a long process of changing my email address on all of my other online services (assuming I can remember them all)?
The other thing I'm worried about is that if I can't get into this account that some day, someone will gain access to it and will be able to see personal information from my emails. Do email accounts expire? Are they eventually deleted?
Thanks for any help you guys can offer.
Hello redditors, i need a litle help here. I want to purchasse a secure flash to my company (finantial and others files), and i don't know which one is the best :/
Thanks ;)
So, I am interested is deploying an ironkey enterprise solution for remote users and I am particularly interested in the portable desktop virtualization option. Anyone have any experience with it?
Some questions I have about it:
Is the virtual desktop like a VM, with IronKey running some sort of VM player?
Can their be multiple virtual desktops (different OSes)?
If it's like a VM can, can I create my own VMs with my own OS/settings and applications preinstalled for my users?
How does the virtualization work on Linux (Ubuntu) Hosts? Is it a hassle to get working on Linux? How about Mac? (our users use all sorts of OSes)
Can I use Linux (Ubuntu specificly) as a virtualized Desktop?
If any of you have used it, in any capacity, I would love your opinions, good or bad.
A user set a password on an ironkey D200 basic, then he jumped ship. I need to reuse this ironkey but Don't have a clue what the password is. I also don't need access to his old info and don't care if it gets lost.
So is there a way to set it back to factory setting or anyhting?
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
