My question is this, WHO allowed this to happen? If you can trace back to that decision maker or group of decision makers then THAT is your enemy! Someone had to sign off on this. Someone had to give Kenny Griffin the keys to the city!

I've been a follower of GridPlus for a long time -- since the inception. I was a pre-sale ICO buyer. This was before the whole market went into crypto winter during the last cycle. I even flew to NYC and met with the CEO in Brooklyn over coffee because I felt that if I was going to invest what was, at that time, the most money I'd ever invested in a project, I should get a sense for the person. For who they were, and how they carried themselves.
Well, I was floored. This guy wasn't just shilling a project. He was a visionary, a builder, a thinker, and a doer. And he carried GridPlus into a successful retail energy provider company in Texas, along with the GRID token that, unusually in the crypto space, actually had some real world utility value.
But then the Texas ice storms hit. Nearly all the retail energy providers in Texas went out of business overnight. GridPlus Energy was no exception.
Thankfully, by that time, they'd completed design and production of initial Lattice1 hardware wallets (which I believe are the best hardware wallets in existence and highly recommend you check them out). So they pivoted to being a crypto-focused company first and foremost and left the retail energy business completely.
This was about the time they also realized that they had the resources, finally, to develop Phonon, and to make it real. Phonon: digital cash, usable offline, instantly. Quite a dream for many in the crypto space. In fact during my flight to NYC I mused over the idea. When I mentioned it to Mark, then GridPlus CEO, in that meeting in Brooklyn, he chuckled and asked me some pointed questions about how to solve the problem of double-spending.
What I didn't know, and what he wasn't about to tell me, was that he and his colleague and friend Karl Kreder (the man who created Phonon) were already working on something that would solve that, behind the scenes.
And here we are today. Years later. Phonon is in the wild, the PHONON token is in the wild, and the DAO is about to start spinning up.
For me this is the culmination of years of ups and downs. For you, I hope it's just the beginning.
