A list of puns related to "Internet Scrabble Club"
When I try to log in, it tries to connect but says that either the site is down or there is an internet problem. Is this also happening with you? And do you know any alternatives to isc to play on a computer online?
I posted this yesterday in a comment and thought others might find it useful if I posted it separately. This is a long explanation of the site that I sent to a family member who was interested, only edited slightly, so the info is geared towards that person. I highly recommend this site, and do feel free to ask me any questionsβIβm sure other users would feel the same.
Ok so hereβs a bunch of info about the site where I play scrabble. The siteβs design has probably not been changed in 20 years, and thereβs some terms and things that arenβt very clear so Iβm going to explain the most important and confusing things.

The TWL dictionary is the standard american dictionary. SOWPODS is international, and collins is british. For challenges, most players use βvoid,β which only lets you play valid words. If you choose βsingleβ, you lose your turn if your opponent challenges your word and itβs not in the dictionary, but there is no penalty for challenging a valid word, so you can check each play your opponent makes if you want to. If you choose βdoubleβ, you lose your turn if your opponent challenges an invalid word that you play, and you also lose your turn if you challenge a valid play that your opponent plays.
The clock is the time you have to play your entire side of the game. If you pick a 20 minutes βgame timeβ, each player will have 20 minutes for their plays. So if a game is usually 12-16 plays, then youβll have about a minute and a half per turn, on average. Your opponent will usually use between 5-15 minutes for their game, so if you use most of your clock, the game will take about 25-40 minutes total. Lots of people play blitz games, which can be as short as 1-3 minutes per person.
Iβd recommend starting with a 20 or 30 minute game time to get used to how things work. Also, when you see an obvious play, it helps to pick it relatively quickly, and try not to take more than 2 minutes on any turn unless you think you have a bingo. So donβt overthink things unless it could help you a lot. If your clock runs over, you get a 10 point penalty, and you get 1 minute to play your remaining moves. If the minute runs out, you forfeit.
Some common acronyms youβll see when people message you: gg = good game hf = have fun tyfp = thank you for playing np = nice play gl = good luck To reply, make sure to first click on the command tab and click on βtell (opponent)β. Then type your message and hit enter.
Make sure you have time to play t
... keep reading on reddit β‘I just started playing on ISC and had a few questions:
At the end of the game it looks like the person who used all their tiles gets the values of the other players tiles added to their score - but I thought the person with leftover tiles also subtracted those values from their score, which doesn't seem to happen in ISC.
Is there a keyboard shortcut to remove the tiles you had placed before playing a word? The way I am doing it now is clicking on the circular arrow button next to the rack, but a keyboard shortcut would be nice.
Is there a way to download the official TWL dictionary used for ISC? I am a bit confused since ISC accepts DOH but other websites say DOH is not in TWL, so I would like to get a definitive version of the dictionary somehow.
Hasn't been working since last night for me..... I wish they would have some sort of error system and not redirect us to the page saying "it's probably your firewall".
For the last 2 days: isc.ro keeps on giving me the "Trying to connect ... The Internet Scrabble Club server is down or there is a problem with the internet route. https://isc.ro/en/help - for details."
There's nothing wrong with my connection (I've tried from different wifi connections and in different browsers)...., and I've played there for almost 15 years....and the website says there are games going on.
What gives?
Thinking about starting a scrabble club. If it looks like there's enough interest, I'll contact a couple places to see if they would let us use some space!
they didn't like it - I've started to receive threatening letters
I don't play it, I don't like scrabble... but my mom does, and she plays a lot on isc.ro, however yesterday, she claimed that the internet wasnt working properly (she's not really smart in computers) and today she started to bother me about the subject, so I checked the website and realized the server for the website was down. I tried to google the subject to know what the outage was all about, but I found nothing about it. So I'm wondering if anyone has an answer.
Thank you for reading.

Attention all Scrabble players near Syracuse! I am planning on starting (or rather, rejuvenating) a Scrabble club in the area. If you're interested in joining, or even just want to meet up for a friendly game, then please consider joining the Discord server or DMing me on Reddit. The plan is to start as a casual club until we reach a decent amount of people, then get the club recognized by NASPA.
The current plan is to have the first meeting on Monday, January 17th at 7pm. Location TBD. Meetings will then be every Monday at 7pm at the same location.
https://discord.gg/dXSW6vMW
EDIT: I appreciate the feedback. The first meeting is still a long ways out, so I will take some time to choose a different location.
EDIT: Check out the Discord server for announcements! We have a new location selected (DeWitt Wegmans), as well as COVID precautions in place.
Now they are sending me threatening letters

I shit you not.

Iβm considering creating an unsanctioned Scrabble club (here inn Eugene, OR) with the eventual goal of getting sanctioned as an official NASPA Scrabble club director and sanctioning the club. This could lead to road trips to official tournaments or potentially even having local tournaments if myself or another person became a tournament director.
I would love the chance to play competitively and I would also like to extend that opportunity to other locals that are interested. I would also want to work with local schools to potentially spread my love of the game and help create some school scrabble clubs.
It would of course be free to come and play, even tournaments, so long as it was unsanctioned play (though donations would always be welcome). Down the line when we got to sanctioned play there would of course be requirements by NASPA, but casual would always be free.
It would be more than just playing. We could have study sessions, anagramming contests, scrabble puzzles, teaching games, etcetera. Itβs something Iβve wanted locally for 20+ years but weβve never had it here, so, well, I should just make it happen myself!
Would anyone be interested in this? Iβm only going to do it if I know thereβs some/enough interest. Otherwise itβs just a fever dream...
Please drop a comment if youβre interested so that I can accurately gauge interest.
Day/time TBD based on interest and availability.
Thank you to each and every person that has taken the time to read, share, or otherwise engage in this post. I appreciate every one of you!
I asked him, "So what's the word on the street?"
He kept leaving little messages around the house.
IIRC the world map was one big continent that stretched north-south from pole to pole though take this last detail with a pinch of salt as I am unsure of it
He should have a good vowel movement. His next diaper change could spell disaster though.
But there's a chance her next bowl movement could spell disaster.
I want to do the mid Roberto Carlos sbc and have quite a lot of fodder, but I don't know how much squad I can do rn. I remember there was a SBC club analyser last year where you link your UT and something tells you how many squads on a SBC you could do on Futbin but I can't find it. Is there something similar on internet ? Thanks in advance.
