Any software or APIs to listen to videos and transcribe into IPA (international phonetic alphabet)?

I'm looking for state-of-the-art tools available to listen to a video of people talking which can automatically generate the IPA symbols for what it hears. Any suggestions? I'll consider paid solutions as well. Preferably something that tries to block out background noise and only transcribes voices.

Side question: what's the SOTA on this? Is the best IPA auto-transcription more accurate than language transcription?

I created Open IPA, a free foreign language to IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) transcription tool for Lyric Diction!

Hey r/choralmusic!

Thought you all would find this useful - I created https://www.openipa.org, a website that allows you to put in any text (in Latin or French currently) and have it be transcribed into IPA in real-time. Recently, I added a list of common Latin texts using the wonderful resources at the Choral Public Domain Library, which makes it that much easier to find the text of the song you're working on.

Let me know what you all think, and don't hesitate to reach out and ask any questions you may have! I'm a choral singer and vocal performance major myself, so I love working on projects like this to help myself and others better understand and perform their music.

If you're curious in following development, you're welcome to come join us over at r/openipa. Thanks again - have a great rest of your week!

The International Downtown Association, a conference of urban planners, meets in Tampa next week. Tampa Bay is great, but not perfect; what is the number one thing you'd like to see developed in our region in the coming years?

Link to article about the conference. For me, our region has one glaring flaw: transportation. Tampa is a city blessed with an international airport that is quite close to the city center, only about 5 miles, and yet, there is no good mass transit link to the airport, or anywhere else for that matter. That's ridiculous. I live in the Magnolia Heights neighborhood of St. Pete, a great neighborhood just a few miles north of downtown. The bus route near my house comes once every 40 minutes. That's ridiculous. Nobody can use that. The Times wrote a great piece in 2017 detailing how our region has one of the worst transit systems for a region of our size in the country, bar none. We spend the same amount on transit as regions half our size and boy does it show. If we're going to get serious about climate change, we also really need to invest in public transit, totally ignoring how much it can do for urban equity in a city, and just make it a much more pleasant experience to live somewhere. We need to start with building up the bus fleet so it can be a system folks can actually use, and I'm hopeful Brightline will build out their Tampa link in the coming years. The new I-275 span across the bay is actually being constructed to accommodate future light rail, which would could really start to connect our region. Will it be expensive? Fuck yes it will be. Would it transform our region, take cars off the road, and create a much greener way of getting around? Also yes. Anyways, what would you like to see developed in Tampa Bay, from an urban living perspective?
