I was really surprised to hear the announcement from CRC yesterday, as were most of my coworkers. Very pleased to hear that there will be an expedited process for existing WSIs and WSITs to transfer to LSS' system, but I am pretty gutted about the loss of Sidestroke & Elementary Back Stroke, as well as the loss of some of the safety items (Cold Water HELP & Huddle position, Feet/Head-First Surface Dives, Disorienting Entries, etc). By looking at the test sheets on the LSS website, it seems that there is less emphasis on technique that the RC is known for, but more on completion of the distance.
