I was just looking through the original L Word's Wikipedia page and found this quote. I think it explains why the original and Gen Q feel like two completely different shows.

I didn't watch live last night, instead I did this morning and I've got to admit I watched OC before SVU and HOLY S***.
The car scene between Liv and Elliot was sooooo good, so powerful, so THEM.
I also love that they're exploring aspects of Stabler's mental health like PTSD because in SVU they never did. I'm 100% sure he is telling her to back off to protect her but when he needs someone she definitely will be there for him.
I'm in love with OC let's keep it moving.

how would they be related to the original characters? who would be a good love interest for them? (if any) what would be their storyline?
Here are mine:
- Better writing (duh!)
- Better job with balancing out the airtime. Actually embrace the whole fucking show instead of this obvious force feeding some characters over other characters BS. It sucks going into episodes knowing a weaker character or couple will get more airtime than a more interesting character or couple.
- Wrap up the Bette and Tina storyline. Either put them together or write Tina out. Her hanging around is too distracting and is insulting to Laurel Holloman. She's doing her thing in the art world and comes out of retirement for this tired crap?
- Keep the OGs interacting (best episodes are the ones that had them interacting)
- Do not ruin Gini. They're the only thing that is close to a guarantee that fans will at least enjoy their scenes.
- Better job at casting the characters. I find it kinda funny how Gigi is the only breakout character from this new cast and of course you find out Sepideh was on Ilene Chaiken's radar before Gen Q. So in other words, Marja's that inept at casting that she can't even point to discovering Sepideh. lol
Just sums up what a joke this reboot has been when everything regarding Sepideh/Gigi has been by accident.
Do you guys think Alice wrote about Jenny in her book? Also, do you think it’s surprising that the originals don’t mention Jenny? I’m just curious as to what your opinion is.

The dialogue between Uncle Nicky from This is Us and Bette is unintentionally hilarious!: "Back in the 90's, when you were at the CAC pairing art with activism, no one else was doing that yet! I admit, for once I didn't foresee a trend! 25 years lateryou are still the only one who can help me catch up ... on, uh, 'those causes'. I assume you are still passionate about them? " Like man. The only way it makes sense is as a projection of how Ilene Chaiken believes she is percieved.
