My life has been nothing short of annoying and quite sad because not only am I autistic, but I was born with cataracts so I have to use the most thick glasses anyone has ever seen. Many people have betrayed me, a girl who said they would always be there for me got mad at me because I got mad because I found her βweird and confusingβ because she would talk to everyone else but me but would always express interest me only online and never at school. She ghosted me a few weeks ago. I donβt make a lot of friends and I have burnt bridges that I didnβt mean to build all because of my lack of sympathy or any emotion as it is. I always have my AirPods on because I have to stim ALOT to function somewhat. People are always so odd to socialize with me. I sometimes wonder if I really am worth being here because people canβt really bear me. However Lou Reed (lead singer of the velvet underground) and Ian Curtis (lead singer of Joy Division) are two people who have gotten me through my life. Iβm not top of my class, im not smart, im not a good swimmer and the only thing Iβm remotely good at is piano. But although these two icons are both dead I still believe if it werenβt for them, my life would be a lot harder to live. Anyway thatβs enough of my rant :)
Iβve always wondered, and been unable to verify, was The Last Beat of My Heart an ode to Ian Curtis of Joy Division? Some of the lyrical content suggests it to me.
Anyone else notice this?
Hello sweet friends. I am an aspiring writer, and I focus on stories about postpunk and synth-based musicians sharing meaningful moments with cartoon bears. I hope to become a novelist.
Please enjoy my story about Ian Curtis's meeting with the real Care Bearsβ’. Thank you for reading and sharing with friends. If you have other requests let me know. I have written about Yogi Bear and Depeche Mode, and also the time Trent Reznor met Winnie the Pooh.
Lyrics:
> We listened to the open sound your voice projected on the radio dial
Lie with me I said and lying's what she always did and always will.
All these thoughts keep leading back to him.
>
> And no signs from Cinema.
No city skyline.
No paper scraps and no unfolding at five o' clock
Your voice skips as it always did and always will
All these thoughts keep leading back
>
> It's the light from your sunless room
Scattered in pieces all around you.
Recession of these thoughtless forms
Reciting every line as a way of life and a way of death in time
We heard Ian Curtis kill himself again in your bed.
>
> In these 24 hours we stretched into a room filled with "Heart and Soul."
This is the way.
Step inside and march in the procession of empty hearts.
Love has torn us apart.
It's a part of me a part of you in time we're falling apart together.

If you have any additional facts or corrections in the above ones, comment!
Has anyone ever noticed a similarity between Paul banks (Interpol) and Ian Curtis (Joy Division)? I was listening to Wilderness, Shadowplay, Stella was a driver and Cβmere then it dawn on me how alike their vocals are. The tone, range, weight, what ya think?
Just started The Plag episodes and noticed that twice Henry tries to make a joke about the band Anthrax, but instead of saying Scott Ian, he says Ian Curtis of Joy Division, and Marcus never corrects him.
i just watched the nardwuar interview with Genesis and i was wondering if anyone knew the name of the song Ian Curtis sang to them on the phone, they said it was about suicide but i can't find it, if anyone could help me out it would mean a ton, much love <3
brb getting my shit together
That's it that's the post. I find myself listening a lot to the live version on Still, stunning version I advise you to listen to if you haven't already. Ian's vocals (despite the poor recording quality) are so strucking, emotional, desperate, it litteraly sends shivers down my spine every single time. Furthermore considering that recording was just 16 days before his suicide, it adds incommensurable meaning to his performance. I love New Order's version but a Joy Division version would have been such a terrific recording.
