A list of puns related to "I'm Alright"
This definitely isn't the standard post you guys see here, but i need help. To start off, I've been going to college for journalism and for this last major assignment I wanted to write about the cdl. I knew this was going to be a challenge as I'm an unknown student journalist next to zero credibility and virtually unknown in the scene outside of this subreddit, but I took it regardless.
I took the challenge because esports is my passion and I think there's an ability to grow in this space that has yet to really be done outside of a couple notable people(tactical rab, Jake lucky, etc.)
I expected to run into a couple major problems and it actually has gone smoothly so far, except till now. The main person who I wrote my article about actually agreed to the interview and was an absolute beauty and came through. My problem now is, I need to interview two other pros, preferably one long time pro player or a former pro who played in the pre cwl era and one whos currently in the league now, just so I can compare the two eras.
You can probably see where this is going, but I've been in about every stream I could find(pro and notable figure in the scene) and every dm that was open on twitter asking about interviews and you probably guessed it, no dice, though a couple maybes but nothings come to fruitionso far. I got responses from Benjnasim and Adam sloss of all people on Twitter but I don't think he was interested in my project, and I don't blame him, and ben humbly declined which i was thankful for regardless.
I need help, I'm getting a bit desperate but this assignment is worth an insane portion of my grade so hopefully you guys can sympathize with my antics.
Octane once said something along the lines of, "why do people go to reddit instead of asking us directly" and after about the last week and a half I kind of understand why people go to reddit instead of asking a pro player directly, without a doubt most people probably think they won't get a response. Hypothetically it would be like asking a pro athlete to respond to a direct message; odds are that isn't going to happen.
I'm asking for this sub to help a brotha out and atleast hopefully this post will get some eyes on it so I can get my assignment done, at most im going to be asking 4-6 questions per interview because I already got my main interview over. My paper won't be published i just need an actual interview to be submitted so I can get a mark.
Anyways, mods please don't delete this. I real
... keep reading on reddit β‘I've got about $800 (spot price) of silver headed my way in the mail. Probably more to be claimed from my LCS.
I'll post some pics of the stack once everything comes in.
If you get the reference we fr gotta be friends π₯΄
So keep in mind, I might not be able to reply to everyone. But I will try my best and chances are youβre getting your reply. Say what youβve gotta say, learn what youβve gotta learn.
Send me your recommendations! Whatβs good to eat around GB?
Thanks in advance
I'll be your friend, in the longest run imaginable. No, we don't need to be best friends that talk every day. We can speak for 5 minutes and never again for 5 years and it will be okay. If we talk for weeks and you realize you found your footing and disappear, no hard feelings. We're doing the best we can and life, it gets kinda hard doesn't it. Do what's best for you and I'll do what's best for me.
Sometimes we all get a little lost, I'll try my best to give you a little help to get back up.
That being said, I'm a working adult, seen my share of travels around the world and have lots of experiences so feel free to share yours or whatever is on your mind. I'll listen the best I can.
Even if we don't ever talk and you just browse past this post, whatever it is you are trying to do, you can do it. You can do the thing.
Promising project, wish I had the funds to stake.
in 4.5 years it will pay off nicely!
See you in a few years passive income!
Anyone else not staking?
I know itβs a big olβ FOMO mechanic used to get us to play and drop cash on limited-time PokΓ©mon forms...
But man... it could be so much better. Considering that the revamped buddy system introduced the best buddy ribbon that is ACQUIRED and can be shown or hidden at any time, itβs likely not impossible to do the same with the costumes. It would just be neat if the incentive for the event was the costume item ITSELF and not another storage slot for a useless Pikachu or Eevee that canβt evolve but has a ~unique~ hat on.
For example: I play during the PokΓ©mon day event and catch a wild Pikachu wearing a party hat. I can then take that party hat off and it becomes an inventory item. That pikachu I caught is now just a normal olβ Pika and I can transfer it if I please. From there, I can choose eligible PokΓ©mon who can wear that hat and apply it to them if I so desire.
Hell, put the costume items in the cash shop for all I care if youβre desperate to profit off of it. Just PLEASE LET ME EMPTY MY STORAGE OF THESE USELESS COLLECTIBLES.
Some backstory: I took some time off of uni and got hired at a big name retail store in a local mall. Been working there for a while now, and school starts up again so I gave my two weeks as a courtesy.
My immediate manager says she's sorry to see me go, then asks me to come in on a certain day even though I'm not on the schedule to finish up some inventory.
Okay, no problem.
Fast forward to yesterday, when I arrived at work. I go to clock in, then get an error. Huh. My immediate manager comes over with a really puzzled look on her face, and overrides it. Odd, maybe Scheduling just forgot to add me? Oh well.
Two hours, I'm lugging a massive cart full of clothes across the store when Big Boss, our store manager, shows up. The conversation went something like this:
Big Boss: "Why are you still here? Didn't you give your two weeks?"
Me: "Well yes, but <department manager> asked me to come in to finish inventory."
Big Boss: "She has more than enough people for that, and you aren't on the schedule. Stop working and leave, please."
Cue malicious compliance.
I abandoned the cart right there in the middle of the store then went to clock out. Fun fact, one of my coworkers had a mandatory hour-long break coming up that I would normally fill in for. Since I couldn't, that meant they had to find someone within fifteen minutes. Guess who was the only employee on the floor? Big Boss couldn't even go up to his office to grab a water bottle because there was a massive line at our station.
I walked out the store six hours early, knowing the manager who kicked me out needed to do my job for the next hour. Good times.
tl;dr store manager wants me out of the store because i'm not technically on the schedule, ends up having to do my job.
whatever man
> βWhen I first got into Minnesota, which is possibly one of the coldest tundras of all time, I didnβt even get a car. I used to walk to the games. I would go get 25 and Iβm walking right back with everyone like alright guys Iβm going back to the house now."
From The Courage and Nadeshot Show. Very good podcast with KAT, especially for those into gaming and the lifestyle of the NBA.
I just reached a breaking point where I am so fed up with people not believing that the U.S. power grid is likely to be hacked and shut down in our lifetime.
No, I donβt have the time to site my sources right now. I wish that there were easy, obvious sources to share, but for some reason, probably the fact that human beings donβt like to think about this very much, my sources were harder to find, but very trustworthy- people and agencies that actually work with the power grid. All Iβll say is- please, do your own research. You will find it to unfortunately be true.
So now, after this breaking point, Iβm going to actually do something about it. My idea is a book similar to βOne Second Afterβ by William Forschen, but a power grid shut-down instead of EMP (though the experiences will be similar), with some real-life data in charts, graphics, etc. sprinkled in throughout. The perspective would be a character inspired from myself- a female in her mid-twenties that has known how fragile society is her whole life. The book take place mostly present moment/post-shut-down, with some flashbacks to moments in her life where she realized more and more how likely a shut-down is to happen.
Please let me know your feedback or just whether youβd be interested in reading something like this. Iβm not interested in comments arguing that a shut-down is not likely to happen.
Thanks, friends! :)
Edit: thank you to those that added candid feedback! Asking again to please resist discussing whether or not this is likely to happen. I know you donβt know me so this doesnβt mean much to you, but Iβve never been so sure about something in my life- that there is a real possibility that this will happen in our lifetime. I want to hear from people that agree and can provide feedback/suggestions for the book concept.
No but seriously. She is beyond frustrating this season and is becoming so hard to watch. Iβm over about 95% of this cast and fake ass Brittany and Jax are at the top of the list of the ones i want gone
