From the article:
>βHeβs a great coach,β Tshiebwe said of Huggins. βAnd I know I always work harder, and Iβm always trying to get better. Just because things donβt go right doesnβt mean you quit. . . . I canβt say anything about Bob Huggins, who is a good coach, who coached me and did everything for me and tried to help me
For context, Huggins gave an interview last week saying:
>"We lost an alleged McDonaldβs All-American because he didnβt like the fact that we were making him do things that were hard, so weβre fine.
>
>βWhen I was growing up in the United States of America, you had to work for what you got. Thatβs kind of gone now. Thatβs the way it used to be and thatβs the way itβs going to be as long as I am head ball coach here.β
Huggins has come a long way in order to get where heβs at today. The West Virginia native was working as a graduate assistant for Joedy Gardner in 1978, while his wife, June, was working concessions at the WVU Coliseum. That was their income. Now, Huggins is one of the all-time great coaches in college basketball history.
The fourth-winningest coach is just like, βeh, who cares?β when you ask him about 900 wins or a statue outside of the Coliseum.
βThey probably should do a statue of me but it ought to be about three inches tall,β Huggins said. βThen, it wouldnβt get in Jerry [West] and Rodβs [Hundley] way.β
Thereβs always has been a narrative created about Huggins, by the national media, that heβs a bad guy. Casual college basketball viewers think of Huggins as, βthe old man with the stool that yells at his players and officials a lot.β The final straw that resulted in me writing this was the Oscar Tshiebwe feature story written by Kyle Tucker of The Athletic. In Tuckerβs story, he interviews Tshiebwe about his journey to Kentucky, which would inevitably include his departure from West Virginia. Fair enough.
I have recently finished watching The Shield, and I can't help feeling that Andre 3000's character was extremely underdeveloped, and almost felt a bit randomly placed in to the story. It seems to strange to introduce a story line like his so late in the show. Am I missing something?
