A list of puns related to "Homelink"
Disclaimer: This post is mainly for owners since I'm still a ways off from delivery and I have no way of knowing this other than just asking those who drive their Rivian daily.
I understand there is no HomeLink in the vehicle, but I'm unclear if that refers to physical HomeLink buttons or the actual antennas and transmitters that make HomeLink communication possible? Does Rivian just expect us to use the standard clip-to-visor garage door openers for the lifetime of the vehicle? If there's no way to control garage doors/home gates via the screen right now, AND it can't be added (assuming they didn't put in the antennas and hardware to make it work) via an OTA Update, that would be a MASSIVE miss in my book for such a futuristic vehicle. Does anyone have insight on this or, assuming they didn't put in the hardware in the first place, any good reasoning for its exclusion? Thanks in advance... hopefully I'm wrong on my no-hardware theory...
I know there's plenty of demand, but haven't seen anyone actually try it yet.
Today Iโll feast and drink, for tomorrow it will fail again.
Hey guys, 13 Turbo owner here, just recently noticed my rearview mirror ainโt turning on, no green light next to the power or compass or anything, anyone else experience this or know how to fix it? Was looking at the fuse panel but didnโt see any obvious labeling for it. Itโs the upgraded mirror with the garage door opener and all as far as Iโm concerned.
Hi all, I've searched for info on this but have been unsuccessful. I want to get an aftermarket rearview mirror that has both Homelink and auto dimming features.
I assume one can use the OEM part from the Limited trim, but it is also $500+ so looking for alternative options before proceeding with OEM.
It seems like a lot of the aftermarket options do not have a long enough neck stem, so the mirror itself interferes with the cover. I have not found an example of a successful install without leaving the cover off.
Does anyone have any information?
My 18 year old garage door opener has failed. Iโll be replacing it this weekend. One of the possible features is HomeLink.
Now that I have my Model 3, Iโm wondering if purchasing the HomeLink kit from the Tesla Store is worth the expense.
What does the M3 tribe have to say about having HomeLink โboltedโ to the car?
Also, suggestions on brand/model of garage door opener welcome.
Hello,
Fedex lost my homelink package and they asked to reach out to Tesla. Is there a number I can call or is it better to call the credit card company?
Home link install was $$ but totally worth it. Should it have been a factory installed feature? Yes. But I am happy I got it done.
The best feature is it opens the garage door automatically when Iโm 30 feet away. You can specify the distance.
If you bought the car for the tech and software aspect of it, donโt cheap out with the Velcro method, just get Homelink module installed. Also it cannot be accessed in valet mode
Has anybody installed Homelink recently? How long does it take? Make you wonder why a $70k car doesnโt have a simple garage door opener installed!
I park in the garage but was curious how this works.
My 2017 Forester has the autodimming mirror, but no homelink to program to remotes and such. If I was to obtain an autodimming mirror with homelink, how easily could I transfer it over to my car?
Has anybody else had this problem? Just got it installed today, and it seems to be extremely picky. We park in our driveway as we have a garage gym, and back in so the charger will reach the cars. Standard two car garage, nothing huge. Garage door opener is a 2 week Genie unit too so that isnโt the problem.
When I pull in facing forward, it sometimes works but it takes a few tries. When I back in, it doesnโt work at all. Car is maybe 2 feet from the door.
The auto open/close doesnโt work at all.
Is it really this weak, or did I get a bad unit or something go wrong with the install?
โUnslovedโ after one drive cycle same issue.
When my car auto opens my garage, it only opens for about six inches and stops. Works fine from all other remotes and the inside control. Closes fine too from the car. Any suggestions?
Saw the other Homelink thread and it prompted me to post this. I back in to my garage to charge, so when I pull straight out when I leave, it tries to close the garage behind me but it rarely works. I assume the transmitter is directional and pointed forward. Then I can either fish my clicker remote out of the console or turn around in my street so the car is facing the garage and then push the homelink icon manually. Neither is convenient.
Anyone else dealing with this and know a fix? If Iโd known, I would have skipped the homelink option. If youโre considering Homelink and you back in, you should be aware.
I tried to follow the instructions in the user manual on configuring the garage remote to the buttons. I can't get it work. While it was flashing yellow when I pushed it, I hold both the button and the transmitter button at the same time until the light flashes green.
However when I press the button it wouldn't activate the garage door.
I repeated these steps with the second button and the same thing happens.
Does anyone have similar experiences? Also, is there a way to reset the buttons?
My car doesn't have HomeLink because it's not a high enough trim level, but could I just bring it to a Mazda dealership and get them to install HomeLink in the big blank space for it up there? I mean, all it needs is power, right? There's already power up there for the map lights.
It's Christmas time meaning I get to ask for cool toys n' shit for the holiday. With that in mind, I decided to kick my home automation to the next level and threw a Zwave hub on my list. Now, my car has a set of homelink buttons in it. Not having a garage, I would love to do something with them. I don't like having to pull out my phone Everytime I want to turn on my porch light when I get home from work late at night, so I would appreciate being able to use a homelink button to trigger an automation. I have searched the interwebs to try and find a solution, however I really found nothing that quite helped and especially nothing within the last 2 years. So, time for a 2021 call for help while HASS is more popular than ever.
How can I integrate my Homelink buttons into Home Assistant?
How can I connect to it? Both the remote programming and the learn button do not work. Any responses are appreciated!
I have HomeLink buttons in a 2019 RAM Big Horn. I programmed one successfully to operate my garage. Is there anything else I can do with the other two? I don't have a gate but I do have C bye GE Smart Lights, stuff on Google Home such as Smart TVs and Smartplugs, and Xfinity Home alarm/camera. Any of these useful with HomeLink buttons? Or does it have to be something that has a remote?
Thanks.
