Well, as it turns out, "Pinocchio" was the last movie I watched for Year 3 of the "100 Movies, 365 Day Challenge."
From April 4, 2020 through yesterday, I watched 143 new films (up from 121 in Year Two but down from 158 in Year One). The mean rating is 6.1 (same as last year). My full list is below.
And then below my list are my winners in 7 categories: "Best Drama," "Best Comedy," "Best Horror/Thriller," "Best Action/Adventure," "Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy," "Best Animated/Family," and "Best Documentary."
And then finally, below that: I put together a list of nominees and winners in four categories: "Best Actor," "Best Actress," "Best Director," and "Best Screenplay." One of you guys did that a few months ago, but I can't remember who.
Don't hesitate to tell me what I got right and what I got wrong.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
The doctor says it terminal.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
Do your worst!
Director: Abbas Kiarostami
Taste of Cherry is my second movie experience with the great Kiarostami, and like the first time, which was with his movie Close-Up, I ended thinking about this movie for days about its poetic beauty.
Here is a story that begins slowly and builds on an ambiguity of the main character, Mr. Badii, a middle aged gentleman driving around an urbanized Iranian city. What seems like an aimless drive turns out to be a specific mission on his part. Mr. Badii has a purpose in mind and he is driving around trying to find the right man to complete a job that he is willing to pay a handsome amount of cash for upfront. He doesnβt say much about what the job is. And any question of why he needs help isnβt easily given to the prospects he tries to convince, and as such, we the audience arenβt easily given anything much either. We eventually find out what the job is, and even then we arenβt quite given much more. Itβs a job that isnβt heavy on labor, but is a heavy task on the soul. Itβs isnβt a job that I imagine anyone would easily agree to take on, despite its nice paycheck. This is much as I want to say about this, otherwise I would be giving away too much. And I will not rob you of the chance to see this movie.
I can tell you this, Kiarostami really brings some heavy thoughts about living and dying to the screen. So, this is what Taste of Cherry is about; itβs a philosophical journey of what it means to be alive, and to die. This isnβt a new thematic cinematic trope either. One of my all-time favorite movies, Ikiru by Akira Kurosawa, is a story of a manβs journey to find meaning in his life upon learning he will die. Life and death ainβt new to the big screen. Great directors take on heaviness like this and create stories that make you sit back and think about the affirmations of being here, right now. But Kiarostami isnβt trying to be life affirming, nor is he trying to shy away from the opposite, about death. I imagine people would argue that life is better than death, and that death is probably something that one should avoid at all cost. Certainly, I ainβt for dying when it ainβt my time. But Taste of Cherry asks these questions. There is lengthy dialogue of the two ideas, and Kiarostami doesnβt shy away. But what is evident is that he treats his story with a beautiful humanity.
Cinematically the movie is gorgeous, and itβs not your typical kind of movie beauty. The terrain is the reddish, dry hills of Iran. The roads are

But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

IMDB synopsis: "After spending years in California, Amir returns to his homeland in Afghanistan to help his old friend Hassan, whose son is in trouble."
The book this movie was based on was a huge deal when it came out in 2003. But when the movie came out four years later, it completely bombed. I've never really been inspired to see it. But when I noticed it was free on HBO, I decided to give it a try.
WOW, this movie is fantastic - SO good on SO many levels! The story itself is beautiful and timeless - with themes of betrayal and redemption, family and friendship, leaving home and returning to home - all against the backdrop of a foreign land (Afghanistan) and a time in history (1978-2000), whose impact would reverberate throughout the world (the fall of the Soviet Empire, 9/11). I like movies that have "historical meaning," for lack of a better term, and this movie delivers. The movie was actually filmed in Afghanistan, which makes it a rare experience - with compelling set pieces and cinematography. The acting is effortless (I mean that as a compliment), with Homayoun Ershadi (who plays the magnanimous "Baba") and Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada (who plays the sweet-faced Hassan) being especially great. The pacing is very good. Yes, it drags a little bit in the middle - but I was OK with that because it allowed us to spend more time with the characters - getting to know them in a "more normal" setting, allowing the final act to pack more of an emotional punch.
Overall, I think this is a wonderful movie. If I had any criticisms, it's that I didn't cry. But maybe that's a compliment too - because I never felt emotionally manipulated. Highly recommended. This movie deserves a MUCH, MUCH bigger audience.

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
