Hello, fellow truth-seekers. What I'm about to tell you may be a lot to take in, but I know that everyone on this sub has already reached an enlightened mental state and can handle the load.
We all know Paw Patrol - a 12-year-old boy and his band of cutesy pups rescue the citizens of Adventure Bay, again and again. But let's peer a little deeper, shall we?
Let's start with Ryder. He's constantly calm and collected, even in the face of big challenges. He commands all of the rescue services for Adventure Bay and has a significant understanding of his and the pups' equipment. In one episode (Pup Pup Boogie, I believe), one of the pups says that Ryder was the one who originally trained him on the equipment, so I assume he did the same for all of them. It's reasonable to assume that Ryder was raised in a special program that trains a variety of skills, as well as mental/emotional resiliency. There's more to unpack here, but first...
Let's talk about the pups. The first thing you'll notice is that they are talking dogs. Normal dogs possess neither the brain nor the mouth parts to mimic human speech, so we are looking at some serious genetic alterations to man's best friend. It's worth mentioning that the pups are canonically 5 years old. I don't think this is stated in the show, but there is a book that gives info on each pup, and it flat-out says their age. Normally, a 5-year-old dog is a full grown adult, but the pups are still, well, puppies! So the genetic modifications slow their aging - but why? We can look to humans and elephants (and probably some other mammalian species) for the answer. We have longer gestation times, and longer juvenile periods, but the result is a more advanced brain. By giving the pups something akin to human growth times, they get human-level intelligence (at least) and likely greater longevity than standard dogs. Nobody wants to invest millions or billions of dollars into a project to see it gone after a decade and change! Speaking of the money...
Where does all the money come from? Who is funding this endeavor? This remains a mystery to me, but a powerful government seems a likely answer, though it could also be a large corporation. Now, as for what this effort is all for?
The pups are in a training program to become loyal public servants, and Ryder is their "Controller." Adventure Bay isn't a real town but rather just a training sim.
