Any ideas on bringing Office Management and Hockey Terms together for a good team name?
Greetings everyone. Iβm relaunching my league tonight and want to see what you all can come up with.
Last season my league went with music/hockey mashup team names. I.E.: Salt N Pekka, Dubois Are Back In Town, Doughty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Jamie Benn Folds Five, and The Real Slim Skjei-dy to name a few.
This season Iβm switching it up to movies. Show me whatcha got.

I saw someone reference /r/wildhockey in a thread here and was wondering what the hell /r/wild was. Unfortunately it was not porn like you'd expect, but it got me wondering what other teams out there couldn't get their team name as a subreddit.
Most teams were able to get their team name as the subreddit (or were able to take that subreddit and redirect it) but there are quite a few teams that weren't that lucky.
The best redirect of all is /r/jets for having the link to redirect to /r/aviation lol.
There are a total of 4 team name subreddits that were set to private. I don't know what the hell goes on in these subs but now I really want to know for some reason lol:
- /r/hurricanes
- /r/avalanche
- /r/redwings
- /r/islanders
Then you have the list of team name subreddits that link to other sports teams:
- /r/ducks/ Oregon Ducks
- /r/panthers/ Carolina Panthers
- /r/kings/ Sacramento Kings
Then there are these two that each only have a single very strange post:
- /r/flames/
/r/Knights//r/goldenknights is actually legit. My bad Vegas!
And last we have the list of subreddits that are literally filled with discussion about the thing the team is named after:

- /r/sharks/
- /r/blues/
- /r/Lightning/
Oddly enough, the most interesting sub out of all of these is actually /r/wild/. It's just a sub where anyone can post anything with no moderation. I don't know if some other sub has that market already taken, but it seems like a good idea that never took off lol.
Hi! This is my very first Reddit post and I'm not sure if this is allowed here, but I figured the r/hockey hive mind could help me with this. I am a huge hockey fan and am currently writing a hockey romance (yes, this is a thing), but the precedent for this is to create fictional teams. I've come up with my main team (the Portland Marauders) but I need more. Anyone have some good ideas for the names, and the cities they are from? I will definitely acknowledge y'all in the book!
Does anyone have any ideas of what the logo and team colors for the Buffalo Erie should be?
After reading a puckjunk article about the classic video game apparently though the North American version just had generic city names, the Japanese version of the game "Konami Ice Hockey" came with an insert outlining the team names. They were the following:
Chicago Angels
Edmonton Bears
Los Angeles Hawks
Minnesota Wilds
Montreal Fighters
New York Devils
Toronto Eagles
Vancouver Bombers
This game was created in 1988 and the North Stars were a team until 1993... Minnesota was named "Wild" in 1998 and the team name was chosen by a contest.

Confusing. But what I mean is, we all know our own teams wonderfully well enough. For example, I may think certain players on Detroit have a higher perceived value than people on the outside may think.
So I want other people's opinions on NHL favourites. Post any player, could be a favourite, team star, or an under-the-radar type a guy. Then someone else offer an outside opinion!
I'll start; Tomas Tatar - I believe him to have a really high ceiling despite a lackluster season. Sometimes pegged as the next Datsyuk to Wings' fans.

Joining a company hockey pool so I can't be quiiiiite as offensive with this league as my regular season pool. I want a Flames related team name for this, bonus points for Tkachuk related names! Any ideas?
Hey everyone. In light of the recent/ongoing news of a sports arena maybe being built here and the possibility of landing a minor league or juniors ice hockey team, I'd like to hear all of your ideas for the team name! Would it be INL related? Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem related? Could it have something to do with the Snake River? Lets see those unique, wacky and downright silly names!
So a new team is being formed at Leeds in the UK with their home to be the newly built Planet Ice Rink. The 'managers' of Planet Ice have tweeted a poll for people to vote on the new name of the team, see below

Pretty poor choice of names, especially as one of the options is Leeds Cotton Kings!! Cotton within the UK is associated with Manchester not Leeds!
The name Leeds Mighty Mammoths is surely the right option within our limited choices so lets try and get this team named correctly!?
I just remember them being referred to as the natives, and can't think of the team name.

Edit: to clarify the rules I guess. You find the funniest name based off of your roster if you remove one letter from a specific players LAST NAME like I did in my example.
