Air Denial is a 8% accuracy nerf to your fleet. Which is crippling for BB fleets. In applicable maps (which is probably all of them to exclude maybe world 6 to 9 since there are no enemy CVs.) A 3 BB fleet will no longer be sufficiently viable in maps where air power will play a role. This goes especially for high world encounters.
Lusty has the benefit of bringing a lot of Fighters for only taking up one slot. Definitely a ship that gets a look at now. In weaker air maps Centaur would be a good pick for her buffs to BBs.
Or you know, field a IJN fleet with Nakaga or a US Essex centered CV fleet.
