A list of puns related to "High School Related"
When is it fine to include high school related stuff on resume? If I will be a first year college student, I will not have as many achievements in college. I hope to do so over the course of the year. Till then while I try to get internships or any kind of opportunities can I include my high school projects, jobs, or any awards and slowly removed them as I gain college experience? Is this looked down upon? I have read not to have any high school related stuff on resume so am not sure.
So in my dream I'm in a relationship with my high school friend (will refer her as T).
What happened is I seem to got into a relationship with T for some times and we open a candle store on an Instagram, which doing quite well. Our store also have a famous spot which is some ATM machine in front of a big building in a downtown area close to our old school(all of this is what I feel like it already happened in this universe)
later I have to go fight some robots(very identical to Generation Zero) and misses out a lot of date and candle business. eventually we broke up due to our unmatched schedule, I'm still fighting robots and try to sold off the remaining candle I got left while she's off doing her stuff(we didn't contact each other since we broke up)
one day I got a chance to go back at our old famous spot because of some robots problem. after finishing a fight I walk down to see some of our old candles being lit at the ATM machine, when I walk over to blew it out I saw some messages on those candle "plz open back up again" "really love your candle, plz come back" something like that. after collect all the candles I turn around to see T standing behind me. We had some catch up conversation but everything went down hill when we start talk about our brake up. my feeling in that moment is I love her but I'm more comfortable to stay single.
As we part way once again, a group of my high school friend walk up to us with a bag full of our candle ready to be lit, another group shows up with all sort of love relate present such as flowers, chocolates, teddy bear even a PUPPY(a white Pomeranian) to strengthen our love. They surround me and T, prevent us to walk away from the other and try their best to convince us to get back together. At this point I still have the same idea in my head that I want to stay single even though I still love her.
and then I woke up never know the out come of that dream.
apologize for my bad grammar.
Iβm currently a rising junior.please drop some good ideasπ
I asked her if it was a running joke...
I've found this a weird obsession which seems to have started in around the 80s with Hollywood (late 60s and 70s were obsessed with college). They're absolutely obsessed with high school. They make it seem like such a bigger part of your life than it is and we all know the portrayals are generally bad.
This leads to even now, such a large flux of TV shows and movies set in high school and for most people, the experience isn't relatable at all. I don't think media needs to be relatable to enjoy but at the same time, it's just a weird portrayal. And I really do think that even most of the 'good' stuff is overrated. Yes Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a good movie, so is Back To The Future or The Edge of Seventeen or Mean Girls but I still find these to be a bit overrated possibly from nostalgia. Then we have movies like Grosse Point Blank that are obsessed with the high school reunion, do people even attend these in real life or care that much about them?
With TV shows, it's even worst. There's a channel that had an entire lineup worth of content revolve around bad high school shows. The one good one I've seen recently was American Vandal which was more of a parody crime show that happened to be set in high school, not your typical show.
I've come across a post here a few weeks or months ago saying that it's never too late to code but the earlier you start the more you have an advantage. However if I'm going to pursue a computer science degree how much % of my time should I spend in high school on learning to code and how much % on math?
edit: ok judging by the replies in the end i guess i'll do 50/50 anyway lol
also a bunch of FAQ:
-Calc 2, Matrix/pre-linear algebra and abstract algebra are mandatory here in Romania in high school and I'll start with Calc 3 and advanced Linear Algebra in first year of uni
-C++ programming is also in the curriculum for most high school students and it goes as far as learning linked lists and graphs/trees in 11th grade but I'm generally very ahead in CS class, but in general CS/IT universities here start from the basics but on a very alert pace so it's better that you did some programming in high school
-Some people asked about the degree and uni I want to go to, why I'm pursuing a CS degree and not a self-taught path or why I don't get into engineering. I won't exactly pursue a computer science degree if everything goes as intended and I get into the college I want, but I'll go into this "Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Computer Science" department which is like a mix of computer science, business information systems and statistics/data science. Here is the curriculum if anyone's curious: https://imgur.com/a/aVUTZ8D
-I don't wanna go into web dev and data science/ML sound satisfactory but I'd also go with a general software engendering job as long as it's not web dev lol
Based on the responses so far, Iβm surprised people donβt think this is an issue!
It is almost as if itβs done by design.
No wonder there is record consumer debt, misunderstanding and misconception of basic economic and financial concepts, and all the other related trickle down ignorance.
To me this seems to be the root cause of many of the world economic issues.
Can these courses, taken at a younger age, lead to better quality of life for everyone? Why hasnβt this been explored?
Are there any other countries that have these as a requirement ?
Teacher speaking to the class...
What do you guys think were the 3 most used words in the 60's?
silence from class
Cool.
Groovy.
and Ear.
Class responds "Ear?!"
Teacher takes a long hit from invisible joint and pretends to pass it to the student in front of him.
while holding his hit "Ear."
What we have to do is perform an experiment, collect the data, and draw conclusions form the data. Like I said, I want to do something related to Aerospace engineering as I'm really interested in the field.
The catch is that is I should be able to carry this out in an ordinarily equipped high school physics lab. I can, however, create apparatus if I have to.
I would love if you guys could toss this way some interesting ideas in the field of aerospace engineering that I can realistically carry out.
Thanks!!!

Anyone know good ECβs to kinda go along with my major? Iβm a junior looking to go into buisness/finance and activities or internships that appeal to the college process and help me get out there are appreciated. Thanks
A bit of an odd situation. But I am currently in A rough High School that does not have a proper programming or cs class, but i have been told if I can find a decent course online for a school it can be accredited under supervision. I'm trying to look for things such as code.org or codecademy.com , but I personally don't like how code.org does things as I've taught a lot of the basics to myself as it is and just wanted to further my progress while getting credits in school. I also use codecademy.com and other sites outside of school to teach myself as I am wanting to peruse computer science, but I'm not certain that would work well for school use.
The only other courses I could find online would be college courses which I was also considering, but yet again unsure how to proceed.
Personally, I'm a high school student who's taking baby steps to get into the IT world, and I also recently noticed a club at my school where you can do a mini presentation/talk/demonstration type thing. Would it be possible to fit some stuff related with IT, system administration under this? I thought it would be nice to create some interest and presence in this field at my school.
The problem is, I'm not sure if most students are really interested. I was thinking networking is an incredibly relevant topic, but I'm not sure if there are ways to present it to students who might not be super keen currently. Personally, I was thinking of doing some sort of introduction to Linux.
So /r/sysadmin, any possible ideas to make this work out?
Cheers!
I've only been reading Marvel and DC Comics and was wondering what else there may be.
Even if it is/isnβt, I would still like to take something somewhere in business field that isnβt so hard to find a job/pays well.
