Title says it all, fed up of the lackluster kebabs from my local bossman
Wouldn't normally ask on here but I've spent the past couple months applying for literally everything from being a bin man to a £100k a year business manager and I'm getting no luck.
I have years of retail experience and a degree in music (lol) and I'm willing to do absolutely anything (except suck dick).
Wondering about service, prices, worth visiting vs. ordering online and so on.
Just thought some of you might like to know that these two are constantly around the Pokegym statue at 'the tip' stadium field at the bottom of Warwick Street. Also some super rare ones have been on Waterloo street today- caught an Aerodactyl but Snorlax was there later on.

We went a couple of months back and they offer quite a few keto friendly options (including bullet proof coffee!). Highly recommend trying it out.
Me and my partner are moving to Newcastle and we are looking at houses to buy. He’s originally from Newcastle but has lived down south for 10 years so isn’t sure on the areas anymore.
Where shall we look?
EDIT: thank you all for your help! It’s narrowed down the Rightmove search really well ☺️

Hi all,
My partner has accepted a contract at Durham uni for this January. We’ll be moving from Canada so we’re not too familiar with the city/area.
We’re looking at Gosforth, Heaton, possibly Jesmond for neighbourhoods for apartment/flat hunting… though there’s not a ton of supply for January at the moment, lots of stuff for the summer it seems.
Are there any other areas we should be looking at? Will it be tricky to rent for January or February?
We’re in our mid 30s so while we don’t party thaaaat hard anymore, we like to be around bars/restaurants/a coworking space for me if possible.
Any advice is appreciated!

Hi! Trying to break a brick wall I’ve been stuck on. Possibly adopted second GG mother that I just can’t trace down.
I know her name was Winifred Leggett, and she married Rowland Robinson in 1919 (South Shields, Durham, U.K.)- I have been told she could be adopted so this might not be her birth surname. I know she died in 1973, Newcastle, and on her death record it says her birth date was 5/9/1899.
Other than that I have very little info. She had two kids (Joan and Roland E) but I have little more info. I know they lived around the Heaton/Byker suburb. I can’t pin down a birth record for her, a family, or any DNA.

Hello fellow redditors! I am an international student who received an offer letter to do Masters in Public Health in Newcastle University for September intake. I did dentistry as my undergraduate degree and plans to work in the public health care sector eventually. I'm new to UK and would like some advice on what would be good reasonable accommodation options near the university, part time jobs, any skills to learn for part time jobs that are well paid as my tution fee is quite high. My boyfriend is going to Loughborough University in September as well but it's almost 175 miles far. Will it be ideal to stay somewhere in the middle and commute to college? What are the affordable travel options there? Thankyou in advance.
Do your worst!
It really does, I swear!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies 😂

Hi everyone, I'll be moving to Newcastle soon and I am now searching for flats in the city centre. Unfortunately not many include allocated parking in the rental. I've read the information on the council website ( https://www.newcastle.gov.uk/services/parking-roads-and-transport/parking-permits/city-centre-resident-permits ), just two questions:
My understanding is that the resident permit is valid across all parking (on-street, multi-storey and off-street, excluding restricted use bays) within the Controlled Parking Zone in city centre, am I correct?
Any current resident happy to share your experience with the parking permit (i.e. ease of finding car park, safety etc.)? I'll probably be using Grainger Town MSCP primarily (which doesn't open 24 hours/day anymore)
On a side note, do you have any 1 or 2 bedroom flats to recommend around the city centre area (between 600 to 750/mo rental at most)? I prefer higher floors with lift access, wooden / non-carpeted floors and modern flat ready for move in around late July / August. I've considered Centralofts (none available now for the price), 55 degrees north (would noise be an issue there?). Happy to hear from private landlords too if you know anyone is moving out soon.
Thanks!
