A list of puns related to "Harry Potter Pet Names"
I'm heavily considering using Hermione for a daughter and maybe Severus for a cat lol
I have a pitbull named Luna, she was originally going to be named Potter due to a marking on her head, but she just fits Luna's whimsical personality more. I'd love to see pictures as well if you want to share!
So on the list, Harry sees he can bring an owl, a cat, or a toad. However, we know that these aren't actually the only options. Ron has a rat, and Harry's son has a ferret (can't remember if that was in the book or just movie, but doesn't matter because there's still Ron).
The explanation for this is that you can bring an animal other than an owl, a rat, or a toad. But you need to ask the headmaster first. And I would think in most cases, it's granted.
The real intention of the rule is that so people don't bring something stupid/dangerous, like a dragon, to school.
I have an orange cat and keep thinking "should have called him crookshanks". It made me wonder how many crookshanks are out there?
And then it made me wonder further, I wonder how many buckbeaks are out there, or aragogs, or fluffys.
Would love to hear about your hp pet.
Like he was too young to participate and was a fourth contestant. Surely Dumbledore and the other staff could have just said no, heβs not not competing? Iβm sure there was some reasoning for why he HAD to participate but I canβt remember what it was
My parents are both massive fans. Slytherin merch is scattered all about the house (birthdays were always fun!). They met at Harry Potter club as well which is a really funny story. But anyways, my father's last name is Granger. And he was really dead set on naming me Hermione and after a long time of trying had my mother convinced to do the same. Except she refused to do it at the end in case I get bullied. The settled on giving it to me as my second last name. So it's kinda snuck in there but not too used.
You can communicate with the creature perfectly and it is loyal to you. But you would be obligated to find a place for your creature to live.
Information on each creature
Basilisk: giant snake with eyes that magically kill whoever sees them, and petrifies anyone who sees them indirectly
Hippogriff: winged horse with the head and claws of an eagle
Thestral: winged horse that is invisible only to those that have never seen someone die
Phoenix: immortal bird with healing tears that can combust itself or teleport someone
Dragon: winged fire-breathing reptile slightly larger than a tyrannosaurus
Acromantula: giant talking spider
Hi all, my kids are mad on Harry Potter and we just got two new kittens. We are looking for some HP pun names for them, things like:
Mogwarts, Hairy Pawter, Defensie against the bark arts
That sort of thing. You are the experts! What can you come up with?
Hey there! Looking into getting myself a dog and I'm thinking about names. I'm big into Harry Potter and would love a Harry Potter inspired name for my new pup! Anyone have any ideas??
His name isn't the problem. There are plenty Potters. He could just say he is a Muggleborn and that's it. His last name doesn't give any indication that he is related to James, Fleamont etc.
But what does make him suspicious is his appearance. If Harry really does look so much like his parents/like a Potter from Fleamont's family, then wouldn't people notice the similarities at the very latest when he is standing right next to them? I'm sure no one would think that he comes from another place entirely, but it does seem like something to keep in mind.
Philosophers Stone: Harry Potter and the Flossers Stone. Chamber of Secrets: Harry Potter and the House of Secrets. Prisoner of Azkaban: Harry Clay and the Azkjaban Prisoners. Goblet of Fire: Harry Potter and the Potter of Fire. Order of Pheonix: Harry Potter VS the Red Pheonix Order. Half Blooded Prince: Harry Potter and the Semi-Bloody Masterpiece. Deathly Hallows: Harry Potter and the dead Lyme.
All of the names altogether: Welcome. Edit: I tried it again and the Philosophers Stone turned into the Stone of Pigs, Phoenix Order turned into the Pheonix Association and Deathly Hallows turned into the Reaper Amulet Second Edit 1 minute later: Tried it again and the prisoner of Azkaban turned into O'bandi Ajkaban
Im a developer, I need to name 3 maybe 4 roads. I'm aiming for a very subtle Harry Potter theme, something that only die hards could catch.
Suggestions?
edit: you guys are all awesome! Thanks so much!!
edit2: our final selections are Silver Doe Cove, Burrow Drive and (me personal fav) Luna Lane. Thanks for all your help. Some really great options in there but the sales guys tempered some back.... For some reason Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore Drive got the ax..
Edit3: this had been so popular, I'm recording names for the next phase! Keep them coming!
My pet names are:
Cat: Lily Paw-ter
Owl: Garrick Owl-vander
Rat: Reg Rat-termole (I tried 'Reginald' but it didn't allow it)
Toad: Horace Toad-Horn (not my best work, I'll admit)
Edit: itβs a black and grey pontoon
There's always been discussions within the fandom about whether or not the chosen names were good names or something a random Wattpad writer would have chosen.
In the seventh book we find out that Harry and Ginny's children are called James Sirius (after Harry's father and godfather), Albus Severus (after Dumbledore and Snape) and Lily Luna (after Harry's mother and Harry and Ginny's common friend).
A lot of people think that these (fictional) children would have a hard time with establishing their own identity and the HP fandom overall seems to dislike Albus Severus especially since his namesakes are quite controversial characters.
So I thought I'd ask the name nerd community for your opinions! Any Potterheads here? Do you agree with the original names or would you change them? And to what?
To be clear, this is a crack-ish prompt for the most ridiculous name versions of Harry - Hadrian, Henry and Harriet are BASIC. Hit me with your best ideas!
It can also contain only part of the name of another book, show or movie. I'll start.
"Harry Potter and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day"
Hi, Iβm writing a story and I need some names that would fit in with the names of the members of the House Of Black from Harry Potter. The names of the already existing members are: Licorus, Magenta, Arcturus, Cassiopeia, Phineas Nigellus, Elladora, Iola, Hesper, Lysandra, Lycoris, Marius, Callidora, Alphard, Araminta Meliflua, Eduardus Limette, Lucretia, Misapinoa, Alexia Walkin, Phoebe, Ursula, Violetta, Cedrella, Charis, Dorea, Belvina, Sirius, Pollux, Irma, Orion, Regulus, Walburga, Cygnus, Druella, Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa
Does anyone have some names with the same kind of feel to those? thanks!
βCall me Lord Hadrian James Potter-Black-Peverell-Gryffindor again and I will hex you.β

βThe system of wizarding nobility is absurd and needs to be abolished.β
βHow can you say that Lord Potter?β
βGenerally I just open my mouth and make sounds come out that people hear as words.β
