A list of puns related to "H. H. Holmes"
I'm rewatching/forcing my boyfriend to watch Supernatural and just watched the episode with H H Holmes. I'm curious about this person considered America's first serial killer. Any podcasts on this subject? Or episodes of other podcasts? Cheers, and Merry Christmas!
Obligatory sexy H. H. Holmes picture for mobile
Iβm back and I want to get off TPβs Wild Ride. Just kidding, Iβve been frothing at the mouth waiting for this to reach the two-week conclusion period so I could post this.
Anyways, hereβs the story of that time Time Princess released a story about a real-life serial killer. Flairing this as Heavy because of the serial killer theme.
[Background]
Time Princess (abbreviated as TP), formally titled Dress Up Time Princess, is a mobile dress up and light novel gacha game. For those unaware, gacha games are free to play games that are designed to entice players to spend real money to get in-game prizes. Itβs a very basic definition but not super necessary for this write up. TP was created by developer I Got Games which will henceforth just be referred to as IGG. IGG has developed other popular mobile titles you might recognize such as Lords Mobile and Castle Clash.
The light novel aspect of TP comes with regular introduction of stories, or βbooksβ as their called in game. These books can be completely original stories like TPβs Si Wooβs Sight, a K-Drama themed story combining idols and the paranormal, or adaptations of existing works like their genderbent Romeo and Juliet story. Most, if not all of the books, contained some light romantic aspect prior to this incident.
[One Additional Piece of Background]
Iβm putting this is its own section because I donβt want people to skim over it and itβs important.
You need to have at least vague knowledge of who H. H Holmes was.
Very basic introduction is that he was an American serial killer who operated in 1890s Chicago and is infamous for his βmurder hotel/castleβ. If you want to know more, google him with the caution that comes from reading about serial killers.
[A New Book Announcement]
On the first of November, various TP channels across social media and in-game began teasing a new book release. Summary of the teaser is that it an infamous event in history around the time of the World Faire in Chicago and the picture seemed like a near exact match for the Holmes murder castle. The teaser trailer would make thi
... keep reading on reddit β‘The more colorful version of this 19th Century serial killer's life is that he had a "murder castle" created; a hotel with confusing architecture, rooms designed to kill their occupants, trapdoors to drop corpses down into the cellar, and so on. Another version I've heard is that Holmes just wasn't much of an architect, and that he contracted one builder after another, so he could cheat them out of payment, and that this also played into the weird and messy layout. I've also heard that he greatly exaggerated his killings.
Was there actually a murder castle? And did Holmes actually use it to kill people?
Since the description of TDIM says that the protagonist's are in a replica of Holmes's murder castle then it's safe to say that it would look exactly like this but most likely not exact but it would be similar.
Anyways, we know that the yellow sweater girl in the trailer announcement is trapped in an airless vault which is where exactly?
There are many possibilities in this artwork (assuming that this is accurate) but i'm pointing out the top right corner where you can see a wide metal door that's open, this could possibly be the location of the airless vault except I don't see a window or a gauge but remember that the protagonist's are in the modern era (I think) so maybe the killer made tweaks and improved the vault. Or maybe it's just located in the basement but I don't see a vault room down there UNLESS the killer designed many of Holmes's murder rooms around the hotel where not even Holmes put in his original hotel.
On to the next point, I think white hoodie guy is in the basement but only because we see him in a cage in the trailer and the only cage I see is in the basement next to the stairs. I also think that Jessie Buckley's character is in the tiny room in the middle of the artwork, where you can see a woman sitting infront of a door, this is because when you pause the trailer where her character shows up you can see a brown background like in that room but there are many brown background rooms so this isn't likely.
As for the woman in the golden premonition I have no idea where she is since we see her watching the old guy's death in a close up view of her face. Speaking of the old guy, we know he is in the same room of yellow sweater girl but he is not in the same room when the mannequin blows him up so it looks like he either goes somewhere after she dies or he was somewhere before she died.
That's all I got, please, if you think something you see here is important then write your theory of where these protagonist's could be in the trailer or write something you see that's a potential death room. And remember that these are just my ideas of what happened in the trailer so take everything with a grain of salt.
Recently someone mention Holmes to me as "America's First Serial Killer". I looked Holmes up because i didn't think that was right. As soon as I saw the phrase "murder castle" I forgot all about my quest, and thought of Robert.
The Murder Castle is just the tip of the iceberg... polygamy... confessing to murders he didn't commit (along with some he ABSOLUTELY did)... lots of old timey insurance fraud... barely competent police work... Some activity in Texas... this guy had BHB written all over him.
We got our official story for βThe Devil In Me.β What do yβall think?
Herman Webster Mudgett (May 16, 1861 β May 7, 1896), better known as Dr. Henry Howard Holmes or H. H. Holmes, was an American serial killer[1] active from December 1891 to November 1894. Despite his confession of 27 murders (including some people who were verifiably still alive) while awaiting execution,[2] Holmes was convicted and sentenced to death for only one murder, that of accomplice and business partner Benjamin Pitezel.
I recently watched that show where Holmes' great great Grandson goes around and tries to prove his gg grandfather was jack the ripper. He contacts a former CIA spy to help with breaking down the clues. She thought there was no way. Toward the end. There was no doubt in her mind. Considering there will be a series coming out called, "Devil in the white city" possibly starring Robert Pattinson even though Leonardo DiCaprio owns the movie rights....I'd like to hear what you think......was Holmes Jack the Ripper? I found this article as well. The Ripper, far from being the savage, messy slasher of popular myth, was a calm and careful killer. Rather than simply lunging at victims with his knife, he would first choke them and lay them quietly down before commencing the evisceration. This is part of the reason he didnβt alert anyone within earshot to what was going on. Holmes, too, had a methodical killing style, and was also a trained medic β meaning he was adept at the removal of organs. Of course, one of the most widely held beliefs about Jack the Ripper is that he had some degree of medical training. Itβs also important to consider that the last of the official, canonical victims of Jack the Ripper was killed in her own bed rather than on the streets. And she wasnβt simply cut open. She was utterly obliterated by the Ripperβs blade, to the point of being almost unrecognizable. This was a huge escalation from the previous Ripper killings, both in terms of context and ferocity. In other words, Jackβs style had evolved. If Amaryllis Foxβs theory is right, this could have been Holmes trying out different methods, and moving towards the more grandiose style he displayed in the Chicago Murder Castle. Holmes left a trail of business documents which allows us to chart his movements. Except, that is, between 1888 and 1889, when the paper trail goes mysteriously quiet. This coincides with the timeframe of the Ripper killings in London β so could this have been when Holmes was Jack? We do know from ship logs that an individual by the name of βH Holmesβ was a passenger who sailed from the UK to the US shortly after the Ripper killings ended. Thereβs more. Linguistics experts consulted by Mudgett and Fox carefully analysed the βDear Bossβ letter, widely regarded as having been sent by Jack to the London media of the time. The expert confirmed that various quirks of language suggest the writer of the letter was American. Mudgett and Fox also commissioned a forensic sketch

Hey Mr Ballen, i'm sure you were asked before but could you cover HH/HOLMES? His crimes, ingenuity in building his hotel etc?
H.H. Holmes was said to have killed up to and possibly more than 200 people in his true hotel of horrors. I don't want to give anything away on this truly diabolically crazy story. Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese are supposedly making this story into a movie. PERFECT TIMING FOR THE STRANGE DARK AND MYSTERIOUS!!!

Seeing as he was America's first serial killer and a name that is still spoken about. Is it possible?
Iβve been wondering why, of all infamous true crime cases, they picked H.H. Holmes? Iβm π― sure they wonβt answer this so here I am asking my fellow players of what might your theory be on why they choose him? π
