A list of puns related to "Gulshan Grover"
For those who do not remember, despite the film flopping at the box office, her infamous lip-lock with Grover was much talked about.
Katrina Kaif may be one of the leading ladies in Bollywood today but her debut film is pretty forgettable. While some assume Katrina entered the Hindi film industry with the 2005 political crime thriller, Sarkar, she in fact debuted in 2003 critical and commercial failure Boom, co-starring Gulshan Grover and Amitabh Bachchan.
In todayโs throwback piece, we take you the time Gulshan opened up about kissing the actress. For those who do not remember, despite the film flopping at the box office, her infamous lip-lock with Grover was much talked about. But did you know, Sr Bachchan walked in on them practising? Well, scroll down and read on about it.
As per an International Business Times report, Katrina Kaif and Gulshan Grover practised the kissing scene for two hours in a closed room before it was actually filmed. It was during this period that Amitabh Bachchan walked in and caught them locking lips.
In a past interview with a leading daily, Gulshan Grover got candid about the kissing scene with Katrina Kaif in Kaizad Gustadโs Boom. Calling it one of the most difficult sequences that he had ever done in his career, the Bad Man of Bollywood revealed that the team apparently had only two hours to shoot the lip-lock scene in a submerged aquarium at Hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
Continuing further, Gulshan revealed that while he was practising the lip-lock scene with Katrina, their Boom co-star Amitabh walked into the room and cheered him on. The actor concluded that this โcheerโ only increased his stress further.
On being asked about the same controversial scene from Boom, Katrina Kaif had once said, โWhatโs there to react in the first place? And whatโs new about those scenes. โBoomโ has always been all over the Internet. I donโt deny I have done the scenes in the past but I wasnโt comfortable.โ
At that time, speculations were rife that Kaifโs lip-locking scenes with Grover were chopped off from the filmโs initial DVD as Salman Khan had compelled the makers to do so. Besides the above-mentioned tri, Kaizad Gustadโs Boom also starred Jackie Shroff, Padma Lakshmi, Madhu Sapre, and Zeenat Aman.

The stronger the villain, the better the hero. Our Mythology is splattered with powerful villains like Ravana, Kansa, Duryodhana etc who were eventually conquered by the almighty Gods. Check out this excellent article filled with nostalgia on the 90s by Varun Grover
Nostalgia is like cinnamon powder of the emotional realm. Itโs present in everything sweet and saleable today - from resto-bar decors to photo filters to memes (โAao kabhi haveli peโ is the latest in the same series in which Alok Nathโs Sanskaari Babuji was once a rage) to every second Hindi film remixing yet another song from the 1990s. In all this sepia-tinted violence of marketing buzzwords, is there any space or need even to talk about that seemingly unremarkable chunk of time in the history of our cinema and television?
Still - this is a question I am tired of asking myself - what is it about the 1990s that refuses to leave us, the children of that era? (By children of that era, I broadly mean those born post-Emergency but pre-liberalization; boys and girls who gained the visceral sense of body, mind, and the world in the 1990s.) Of course, it was the time of coloured TV, DD Metro, cable channels, a new sensibility in cinema, and it was the time when Baba Sehgal entered our lives. But is that enough? And isnโt that what every generation believes - that they have lived through the most turbulent or sexy or peaceful or meaningful childhoods? So why do I still dream of Alisha Chinai, Anaida, Jackie Shroff (he was singing a qawwali in a dream I had last month, something he has not done in a Hindi film yet, I think), Varsha Usgaonkar (Toh Saathi Koi Bhoola Yaad Aaya fame), and Kya Banoge Munna (serious DD fans will remember this morning-show gem)? Itโs a probe, this piece, which may take me into places bittersweet.
I was a TV addict right from the day the first set came into our home in 1987. Beltek black and white, with a fan-regulator-like channel changer. There were 12 channels on the regulator but only one in our TV sets and hearts. The Doordarshan telecast was limited to a few hours daily and I would happily watch Krishi Darshan (at 7.30pm) -the studio chat show on farming life and techniques - just because it sometimes showed stock footage of farms. โOutdoorโ footage was a visual candy in those times of claustrophobia-inducing floral-print indoors and cardboard backdrops. Though we were making lots of films for theatrical release, the TV telecast was rationed as if in wartime, as if we would run out of films soon. The doctors running the government hospital of TV had prescribed us only one Hindi film a week (with a single commercial break to remind us of nation

Vyjayanthimala, who finally did the role refused to accept Filmfareโs Best Supporting Actress Award for Devdas, stating that her role was as important as Paroโs. Years later, Reena Roy too, rejected Filmfareโs Best Supporting Actress trophy for Apnapan (1978), citing that her role was leading and not supporting.
Bimal Royโs Do Bigha Zameen (1953) remains a landmark film that has influenced several films including Lagaan (2001). One can find echoes of โHariyala sawan shol bajata aayaโฆโ from Do Bigha Zameen in โGhanan ghanan ghir aayeeโฆโ from Lagaan.
Raj Kapoorโs Shree 420 (1955) was a tremendous hit in India and overseas, especially in Russia, Egypt, Middle-East etc. โIchak danaโฆโ and โMera joota hai japaniโฆ" were rewritten in the languages of various countries and sung as local songs.
V. Shantaramโs Do Aankhen Barah Haath (1957) was inspired by the story of an โOpen Prisonโ experiment in Satara. The film portrays a young jail warden, Adinath, who rehabilitates six deadly prisoners released on parole into persons of virtue. During the shooting of the film, V. Shantaram battled with a bull and hurt his eyes and affected his vision. During the period of temporary blindness, he visualized some unseen colours of life which resulted into the making of his colourful Navrang (1959).
Dilip Kumar initially refused to be part of Naya Daur (1957) but then, his friend Ashok Kumar, who heard and loved the story, convinced him to accept it. Madhubala was the female lead in this movie but when B.R. Chopra decided to shoot the movie in Bhopal, Madhubalaโs father, Ataullah Khan, refused to let her go citing personal reasons. Finally, Madhubala had to be replaced with Vyjayantimala who entered a new phase of her career with the super hit โ Naya Daur.
Guru Dutt wanted Dilip Kumar to play the leading role in Pyaasa (1957). The Tragedy King declined because he thought this role was similar to his Devdas (1955). So, Guru Dutt himself decided to play the role. Similarly, Madhubala and Nargis were his first choices for the leading ladies, which were eventually played by Mala Sinha and Waheeda Rehman. Pyaasa went on to become a cult film in the history of Indian cinema.
Mehboob Khanโs Mother India (1957), was the colour remake of his own Aurat (1940) which featured his wife Sardar Akhtar. Aurat was inspired from Pearl S. Buckโs novel โThe Motherโ. Nargis got the role of her lifetime

In an earlier interview with MSN India, Somy revealed that she was hugely smitten by Salman post Maine Pyar Kiya, and thus, had to cook up stories to convince her family to visit India. She also opened up about the first time she met Salman, their relationship and what went wrong.
Here are excerpts from Somy Aliโs interview with MSN:
#On meeting Salman for the first time The first time I met Salman was in an aeroplane to Nepal. We were going there for the shooting of Bulund. I showed him my wallet in which I was carrying his photo. He smiled and thought it was silly. I was very immature, lost in my stupid dream.
#On Salman Khan and Sangeeta Bijlani I used to see Salman and Sangeeta (Bijlani) together at his house, holding hands. It used to kill me. I was this obsessed teenager out to marry Salman somehow. We started dating after a year. They broke up due to me. It was wrong, but I was too young to realize that.
#On things going awry between Somy and Salman Looking back, it was so foolish on my part to want him all for myself. For me, he was the toy in the toy store that I wanted. He liked to go clubbing, and I would tell him to sit at home and play scrabble with me. He was also over-protective and treated me like a kid. I didnโt like it.
Somy added, โI never went there (India) initially to be a part of Bollywood. Once I broke up with my ex, there was nothing keeping me there.โ Somy has called herself a โmisfitโ in Bollywood a number of times and shared she has no plans for a comeback.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

India presented its culture and cinematography โ โDays of Indian Cinemaโ on September 28-29.
Tashkent International Film Festival โPearl of the Silk Roadโ appointed Sarfaraz Alam as Head of The Indian Delegation. India and Indian stars are very popular in this region especially Mithun Chakraborty and Shahrukh Khan. The organisers had requested Mr. Sarfaraz Alam and his company Kartina Entertainment for bringing stars from Bollywood to create magic and glamour on the red carpet. On 29th September at the same venue Kartina Entertainment organised an Indian event with the participation of all the Indian delegation under the leadership of Sarfaraz where the Indian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mr. Manish Prabhat was also present. The most emotional part of the event was when Mr. Sarfaraz Alam presented a beautiful bust of Raj Kapoor to the Government of Uzbekistan and the statue was revealed by Mr. Randhir Kapoor and Mr. Mithun Chakraborty along with the minister of Uzbekistan Kino Mr. Firdaus Fridunovitch. Song from โMera Naam Joker .. Jeena Yahan Marna Yahan โ in the background and the bust revealing was really a tear-shedding moment for the audience. Then the highlight of the event was when the audience started shouting Jimmy Jimmy and Sarfaraz Alam pulled Mithun Chakraborty on the stage to show some of his signature steps.
