I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

This drama is based on a novel and I won’t be making comparisons because I haven’t read the original source.

Hi there! This is my first review here and I apologize if there are any mistakes or if this is way too long to read. I just wanted to share some thoughts on this drama since I didn't see many posts about it.

***SPOILERS AHEAD

Countess Ban Hua (Guan Xiaotong) is a legend in the Da Ye Kingdom. Not only was she born into one of the most powerful families in the kingdom, with a princess for a grandmother and a highly respected (but deceased) general for a grandfather, she is also blessed with beautiful looks and strong martial art skills.

But none of that has anything to do with why she is a legend. Her razor-sharp tongue and extremely direct personality, which has scared away three potential marriage suitors, is the reason why she is infamous. It is reiterated throughout the drama that she is nothing like the other women of her time. She does not take crap from anyone and she has no problem shredding people to pieces with her words. She also shoots a lot of dagger eyes at people in this drama, haha.

Then we have Rong Xia aka Count Cheng An (Neo Hou Minghao) the most handsome man in the kingdom who is also extremely smart and strategic. He is touted a national model student. The Rongs were also a powerful noble family but the parents and the eldest son were tragically killed in a political mystery when Rong Xia was young. He was then sent to the palace where he grew up with the crown prince and the emperor treats him like a son. Thus, Rong Xia with his intelligence, abilities and background, is one of the most respected officials at court despite his young age.

When our leads meet, it is not by chance. Rong Xia has been trying to uncover the truth about his family’s tragedy and learns that Ban Hua’s grandmother may know what actually happened. So we have Rong Xia intentionally getting close to Ban Hua and her family only to find himself attracted to this young woman who had unabashedly stared straight into his eyes when they first meet. (I have probably watched their first meeting scene like a dozen times. I just love it.)

As for Ban Hua, she is actually busy trying to prevent her dreams from becoming reality. Yes, she has prophetic dreams. She dreams of her family’s downfall, one of her suitors becoming blind, her grandmother’s death as well as her own. Most of her dr

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

It's one of those groups where one member is decidedly more popular than the others and appears in a lot of variety shows and is recognized by the general online populace. The group's official weibo account has 1 million followers while Zhou Zhennan, the leader and most popular one, has 18 million. Essentially they are okay, not extremely famous, but have the potential to be. Three scandals happened this month, two of them were dating scandals that caused a conversation about idol romance, but the third is a doozy. (I would've linked but for some reason weibo isn't letting me login on my computer).

The Dating Scandals

Around mid-October, an actress Zhao Wenrou wrote a post saying that she'd been dating member Ren Hao for four years, even before he was on the survival show, but he kept lying her to her after he made it big with R1se and they broke up spring of 2020. Then after that, someone else came out to say that a Ren Hao, flirted and dated her under a false name and it wasn't until she saw Zhao Wenrou's post that she realized that he had made her a cheater. Right after that photos of another member Xia Zhiguang's dating scandal also broke and for a while weibo is flooded with people gossiping about idol and idol dating drama. Most of the fire was taken by Ren Hao because his wasn't only a dating scandal but also 1) dating someone for four years then breaking up after he made it big and 2) cheating.

Dating Scandal Aftermath

The scandal created the tag #canidolsdate that trended for a while, because non idol fans couldn't understand why idol fans would go crazy when their idol has a dating rumor. I checked the weibo data they show of views and there were a total of around 340 million views of that tag, 56,000 people commenting/posting about it. The general gist of the argument goes like this

nonfans (or fans who don't mind): Idols have the right to date, they're human too. Aren't you being too harsh? It's just a big fantasy and you're just mad because you have to face the truth now.
