A list of puns related to "Greater Stick Nest Rat"
A wonderful documentary showing a few dedicated people reintroducing native Aussie Greater Stick-nest Rats into a predator free property in mainland Australia.
The Greater Stick-nest Rat is a guinea pig-sized, native rodent that builds a communal home out of sticks and stones.
Tragically, a related species, the Lesser Stick-nest Rat is extinct. Both species have been eliminated from the mainland by feral cats and foxes, compounded by the impacts of feral herbivores.
The battle to save this remaining species relies on the fact that a relic population of just 1,000 Greater Stick-nest Rat clings to survival on the Franklin Islands, South Australia.
Infest the Rats Nest obviously gave the band a chance to tap into their heavy metal influences, which got me thinking, what if other classic HM bands performed their songs? Who would be the best fit?
I'll start... Mars for the Rich - Deep Purple Superbug - Black Sabbath
It's been commented on here before, but r/askgaybros has a major transphobia problem. On an almost daily basis some thread or another arises about trans men, at which point it's dogpiled by the militant transphobes of the sub. Not only are all the transphobic replies upvoted, but anything in support of trans people is always downvoted. It is effectively the last holdout of r/LGBDropTheT on Reddit. Its main mod, who has been inactive for months, refuses to do anything about it.
To be fair most of the songs on Infest The Rats Nest do have a similar amount of streams but the least streamed is Venusian 2 which is my personal favourite from the album and one of my favourite songs in their catalog. What do you guys think of this?
Bought a newly remodeled home about a month ago. Verbally advertised as not lived in, new appliances etc. Past inspection with minimal issues. Cut to a couple weeks ago...Finally try to crank up the supposedly new Viking Range oven and doesn't heat up. Long story short I open the bottom on the unused range to a full blown rusted out piss/poop filled rats nest. UGH. Upon further inspection, its actually new/unused as of 2003 (?!) aka out of warranty. Makes me think they got the damn thing off craiglist out of someones barn and installed it as new. Got a vendor coming to inspect it next week to assess the damage.
Would you pay out of pocket to get it cleaned up/serviced? It is COVERED in feces and rust and being that this unit goes for $10K+ new I am expecting at least a few thousand dollars in repairs. -OR- call it a loss, trash it and get a different range/oven? I have never come across this and I am at a bit of a loss.
Shut up and take your psych pop techno like adultsπ€
Guys I need more of heavy Gizz or some other stoner metal. I love this style, songs like Planet B, Superbug or K.G.L.W 2 are something fucking special. Do you happen to know any similar sounding songs/albums/bands?
some of the songs on ITRN are labeled βMackenzie/Walker/Cavanaghβ does this mean Cavs actually helped write the lyrics or is it just a drumming credit?
My chicken coop has rats and my problem is that I can't use poison due to worries of poisoning my cat who likes to eat rats. Any tips for killing that don't involve bait stations? My rifle has taken out several so far but I cant get all of them.
hoping folks can share public locations/intersections where theyβve seen a lot of visible rat activity. not just suspect there are rats or rat droppings, but a particular infestation where the rats are bold in numbers and scampering along without a care in the world.
i do urban ratting with my terrier, but our current locations we may be lucky to nail one or two rats every few visits. just looking for leads on somewhere we can go to find bigger quantities!
i asked this same question in the SF subreddit and got a huge response. not sure if Sac will have the same level of rodent activity, but figured it wouldnβt hurt to ask.

The main purpose dodos served to humans, in the brief contact between the two species, was as food. The sailors frequently fed on wildlife from Mauritius while staying there, although it has been said that dodo meat was not particularly tasty. Still, they were hunted intensely, with sailors sometimes bringing back as many as 50 at a time. What they couldn't eat right away they would salt and bring back with them. A few attempts were made to bring back a dodo alive. When this was successful, entrepreneurs would capitalize on the unique looks of the bird and tour the dodos around Europe, displaying them in cages and demonstrating how the dodo could "eat" stones. My boy Jasper is socially awkward and just doesnβt get along with the other rats well. I think itβs because he was isolated from other rats when he was young (meant to be snake food, sick when I got him, probably alone from 4-12 weeks old). Anyway, he loves cuddling with me but rarely cuddles or sleeps with the other rats. Jasper started building a nest out of scrap paper back in September, he spent at least an hour on it every day for months and he LOVED it. The nest is outside of the cage and he can only access it when I let them out everyday. He doesnβt pee in his nest so I donβt need to clean it out. Recently Kit found the nest and has been using it which means that Jasper hasnβt. Iβve been getting annoyed at Kit because thatβs Jasperβs nest! He worked so hard on it, let him use it! And then last night I found Joey sleeping there. By this point Jasper hasnβt been able to use his bed in weeks. Then this morning when I was gathering them up to put them back and the cage and I pulled the nest out to grab Kit and guess who I found??? Kit, Joey, and Jasper! All together in one nest!!! Of course I run around and tell everyone in the house because this is a miracle. Jasper has another shredded-paper nest in a hammock inside the cage, very cozy and warm but he only built it recently. I just went up to give my old skinny rats some avocado and found Kit and Jazzy cuddling in the hammock nest! Iβm so happy and proud of them! I donβt care if they are only sharing because Jasperβs nests are worth it, Iβm just happy that they are maybe learning to love each other. Thatβs my story, I hope you enjoyed it. I just had to share because my family arenβt as excited as they should be about this amazing occurrence.
