Just looking for something quiet, shaded, and possibly with water (river or lake)
Does anyone know of any cool and unique experiences in the Greater Des Moines area? For example, I went to the Falconry Experience in CA a few years ago and it was awesome! I’m pretty new to the area and wasn’t sure if there was some hidden stuff around here.
Last year, I did the the Dream Drive Exotics at the Iowa Speedway. Super awesome for only $200!
Hello r/desmoines! I’m currently part of the 2021 GDMLI Community Leadership Program and our project is centered on Housing and Equity. We are in the exploratory stage of the project right now and I’m specifically reaching out to speak with anyone who has participated as someone requiring assistance.
You can choose to remain completely anonymous if you’d like. My goal is to discover some of the challenges and pitfalls in the process while also attempting to expand on the areas that are working. We won’t be able to solve for the housing crisis, but we want to do what we can to help make it better for the greater Des Moines area!

Really, really disappointed in this decision. Scholten spoke there recently, so you can see the point about equal time, but King is a different beast. If a firefighter speaks to your class, you don't need to invite an arsonist in to give a counterpoint.
