Ive asked so many people but most people dont listen to radio anymore. Im in a bad spot with not much info but if someone knows the song they will know what im talking about! quite the curse
I am alive today because not a single fire incident happened in the coaching institutions that I have been to. That's just luck.
I have seen classes attended by hundreds having at best a small door followed by a narrow passage; some of which would get crowded by the presence of a single person. Stairs were a different story in themselves with paper posters and banners stuck here, there, everywhere. All inflammable. All around.
There was no emergency evacuation scheme in the first place. Forget about its communication to the students.
Most of the buildings just were. Built to rake in money, regulated by money, and in case any issue of hazards creeping in, wished away by money.
Think back to the coaching institutions or classes you have been to. In Kota. In Delhi. In Hyderabad. In Kolkata. In Allahabad. In Chennai. In every single city.
How much do you rate your chances of survival in case a fire broke out and you, like me, used to sit in the last bench?
What happened to the kids in Surat could have just as easily happened to any of us. It wasn't their fault. They were there to study. It's also not only the fault of the coaching institution.. They are the norm not the exception.
It's a systemic problem. Right from the moment the building plans are accepted without fire safety. Then built without fire safety. Then function without fire safety. Till kids start dying because of a lack of fire safety.
Those kids preferred jumping over from four floors than have any faith in the system. Many of those who did have faith were smoked to death.
Now the officials will check whether the building was illegal. Now the officials will check why fire safety wasn't in place.
Now the officials will check a lot of things.
None of which will bring back the life of those kids, Or the deep fear and anguish they must have felt in there last moments. Screaming and shouting, no doubt.
In the end, when death was almost imminent, some preferred jumping from the top floor of their coaching institute than stay and let the apathy of regulators kill them.
This is a tragedy, yes. But it's a man-made one.
Compared to a hundred years ago, I’d take this, thanks.
And does it still look like the player base will continue to be active? I just want to get a feel for how some of the veterans think the game is going before I invest time and money. Thanks.

As an American, we’ve only ever had 9/11 on our soil in my lifetime. I’ve never had to worry about bombs blowing me up. The most I’ve had to worry about is trying to survive in a time that isn’t progressive enough.

I'm 22yr male. Life has not been fair to me ever since I was born. I was a born left handed person who was traumatized and beaten for above reason. Now i have been converted to right handed. I have been bullied my entire childhood. Added to that i have stuttering problem. I don't often initiate conversations, for fear that i might disturb or annoy someone. Most people avoid me as much as possible. When people are chilling, and if I enter that place, they become irritated. I have chronic anxiety. My only peace is anime, fiction books, reading which I feel that I do not exist.
