I've always heard in passing people talking about charity/promotional rounds (hooters?) with girls at each hole half naked, etc. Never experienced it or can really grasp it. Tell me some stories Redditors.
I saw a post on here a few days back about a cracked R1 and Taylormade replacing it with a SLDR through Golf Galaxy. So I decided to take my slightly cracked head to them to see what they could do. After speaking with the associate I told him about what I read and he said "there is no way the would do that they still have tons of R1's". I said that was fine, I mean hey if they're going to replace my cracked club i'm all for it.
So I sat down in front of the associate while he was on the phone with TM and overheard "SLDR" tossed around a few times. When he got of the phone I asked him if they'd be replacing it with the SLDR or R1. He said "give me one second" and walked over to his other worker/friend and I hear them talking about TM sending a SLDR and GG giving me an R1. Needless to say when he came back he said they are sending me an R1 and refused to give me any tracking or RA numbers, and was ver sketchy about the whole thing. I left satisfied with a replacement club.
Today I decided to call GG and see the status of my club. I spoke with one of the workers he was very nice and said they were very busy took my info and said he would call me back. 2 hours later he called me and said that he couldn't give me the RA number but said my SLDR was being sent from TM. I was shocked/excited when I heard him say that. I explained to him the whole situation with what i overheard and what I was told from the other associate and he apologized and said to make sure when I come to pick it up not to take anything but a SLDR. He even offered to let me have a used club until my replacement comes in.
My suspicions were right about that one employee who wanted to cheat me out of a SLDR. Im assuming he was going to buy an R1 with his discount give it to me and keep the SLDR. But thanks to the other associate who helped me get what I was entitled to.
Just thought I'd share with y'all incase anyone runs into this situation.
