As 2021 comes to a close (to much rejoicing, by me at least), it's time to look forward to the coming year! To that effect, here are 120 books to look forward to in 2022, all of them sequels or books taking place in pre-existing universes (some of them might still be readable as standalones though!). Keep your eyes peeled for a second list of 120 debuts, new series, and standalones, coming to you as soon as I stop being lazy and get all the links working. Books were picked based on overall popularity, the level of discussion I've seen of the series on the sub, getting a nice even ten books per month, and my own fickle tastes. Lastly, a bunch of these dates are unconfirmed so the final publications might move around a bit, but hopefully not too much!
There has been a lot of talking about filming locations on this reddit lately. I have been compiling all the filming locations I know about. If there are any that I'm missing, comment below and I'll add them!

... keep reading on reddit β‘hello everyone! i am a 14-year old fan who is just getting into boxing. i've done a decent amount of research into it, and i've compiled my opinion list of the top 50 boxers ever, ranked. please note that a lot of this is probably not going to be very good or accurate, since i'm kinda new to this. every single boxer on my list fought before i was born lol.
anyways, without further ado:
Oliver's Terribly Inaccurate Top 50:
what boxers did i inevitably miss? who was too low? too high? any patterns you all picked up? i will take any suggestions. good day and happy boxing to all!
I've often seen people talk about the eras of boxing, but I'm having trouble finding some clearly defined points. I'll list what I think are the eras of boxing from what I can find, let me know if there are any errors/corrections to be made. As someone who wants to get into boxing, I felt like this is thing that should be properly defined. Also, the names of eras with * are names I made up.
*Rising Era: A few sources state that the 1920s and 1930s, sometimes the 1940s as well, are when boxing really started picking up in popularity in the USA. This often credited to Jack Dempsey, a very famous world champion. Other boxers that seemed instrumental in boxing's popularity were Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, and I think Sugar Ray Robinson.
Golden Age of Heavyweight Boxing, also sometimes called the Muhammad Ali era: Seems to be 1960s to early or mid 1970s. In this era, we had greats like Sonny Liston, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Ken Norton, and of course Muhammad Ali. There are probably some others I am missing, again, still getting into boxing and I don't know all the pros yet. In general, this seems to be one of the strongest periods of Heavyweight boxing. A lot of strong and enduring figures.
The Four Kings era, one source called it the Sugar Ray Leonard era: Usually seems to be early 70s to early or mid 80s. The four kings obviously being Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, and Sugar Ray Leonard. I believe they were called that for being the four most popular boxers at the time and they all thought each other at least once, with one source crediting them keeping boxing popular post-Ali. From research, this seems to be one of the most loved eras of boxing. This is also the era where other greats like Juilo Cesar Chavez and Wilfred Benitez began fighting, though I don't know if this is when they became their famous status.
This is also when, who I hear from people is rather underrated, Larry Holmes became heavyweight champ. Defended in 19 times, but seems to still not get as much recognition as some think he deserves.
*The Silver Age of Heavyweight Boxing: Mid-80s to I want to say the 90s. It seems here that heavyweight division received another boom in popularity, especially after Mike Tyson came in. There's Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis, Michael Moorer, etc.
There was also some movement in the lower weight classes as well, such as Whitaker and Oscar de la Hoya.
That's all I could come up with the eras of boxing. My knowledge as a
... keep reading on reddit β‘I know when people talk about best performances in the ring, they think about Ali-Williams, Floyd-Canelo, Toney-Barkley, Starling-Honeyghan, Locche-Fuji, etc etc etc.
BUT! those are only the sweet science part of the sport. People who are known to have beautiful boxing skills can only put up a show like that.. that's why there exist "Punchers". Punchers can't do that sh*t. They can't make fashy move or making an opponent miss 5 punches a row type of stuff.. but they can only off the brutal part of the sport, "Beautiful Brutality" (at least that's how I call it) So if you wanna see plain destruction performances in the ring where the fighter just beat the crap outta their opponent, here's my recommendations for you.
- George Foreman vs Joe Frazier
- Bert Cooper vs Willie DeWitt
- Felix Trinidad vs Troy Waters
- Felix Trinidad vs Maurice Blocker
- Fighting Harada vs Jose Medel 1
- Jeff Merritt vs Ron Stander
- Mike Tyson vs Trevor Berbick
- Edwin Rosario vs Livingstone Bramble
- Thomas Hearns vs Roberto Duran
- Terry Norris vs John Mugabi
- Srisaket Sor Rungvisai vs Roman Gonzales 2
- Jeck Dempsey vs Jess Willard
- Wladimir Klitschko vs Ray Mercer
- Marvin Johnson vs Victor Galindez
- Dwight Muhammad Qawi vs Matthew Saad Muhammad 2
- Julian Jackson vs Buster Drayton
- Gerald McClellan vs Julian Jackson 2
- Gerry Cooney vs Jimmy Young
- Roberto Duran vs Davey Moore
- Bob Satterfield vs Nino Valdes
- you name it
During the playoffs and especially in the bubble last season, it seemed like anything anyone talked about was asterisks, and if this season "deserved" one due to the plethora of injuries. So, I decided to see if I could technically give an asterisk to literally every NBA Champion from 2021 all the way to 1947, just to show how fucking stupid the argument is.
Note - Even though the NBA didn't exist until 1950, they consider the 3 previous years of the BAA as official history, and list it as such.
Once I hit the early 1960s and 50s, due to there being practically no real information regarding those seasons besides a very brief overview and recap (some cases not even that), most of those seasons I had to stare at box scores and read team histories and see game by game if there were injuries and fall back to shooting% or FT%, which is why a lot of the asterisks pre-1960s-ish are pretty fickle.
2021 Milwaukee Bucks: Nets injuries let the Bucks cakewalk to the finals, and the Suns weren't real contenders and only made the finals cause of injuries to everyone they played.
2020 LA Lakers: Bubble ring. No crowds, no travel. Heat had injuries that made the finals a cakewalk.
2019 Toronto Raptors: Klay and KD both going down with injuries.
2018 Golden State Warriors: CP3 getting injured and the Rockets going 0-27 in game 7.
2017 Golden State Warriors: Warriors were down 20+ points before Kawhi went down with his injury.
2016 Cleveland Cavs: Draymond got suspended cause LeBron whined to the league, and Bogut went down with injury.
2015 Golden State Warriors: Kevin Love and Kyrie both were injured.
2014 San Antonio Spurs: Conveniently malfunctioning A/C forced LeBron to leave game 1 and deal with cramps.
2013 Miami Heat: Horribly weak East, Spurs missed insanely easy clutch free throws, and Ray Allen hit the shot of his life.
2012 Miami Heat: Lockout shortened season.
2011 Dallas Mavericks: MVP Derrick Rose tore his ACL and took the best team out of contention. Manu injured round 1 for Spurs.
2010 LA Lakers: Kendrick Perkins got injured.
2009 LA Lakers: Kevin Garnett got injured.
2008 Boston Celtics: Bailed out by refs against the Cavs and LeBron.
2007 San Antonio Spurs: Boris Diaw and Amare Stoudemire both got suspended for BS reasons.
2006 Miami Heat: Dwyane Wade FTs the entire series. Shot

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
