I believe it should be ranked higher on both listsThis is a least a top 200 album of all time Harrison would unfortunately never reach the heights of this amazing album again. It is an album that is a must listen for anyone who love great late 60’s-early 70’s rock music.

Este longo post foi trazido a vocês por mim após começar minha recente releitura ASOIAF, focada exclusivamente nas senhoras, além de algumas outras questões muito pontuais, a saber: a abordagem de Martin nas personagens femininas.
É um fenômeno interessante (que não é de forma alguma exclusivo deste fandom em particular ou mesmo da comunidade geek) que homens escritores famosos tenham ganhado renome apenas por serem 'feministas', segundo aclamação popular, e nada mais.
Um exemplo seria Charlie Kaufman; outro seria Joss Whedon (que está atualmente no meio de uma controvérsia exatamente porque o público percebeu que ele, na verdade, não é nada especial neste quesito).
Escritores deste tipo (e eu estou totalmente colocando Martin no grupo) não são de forma alguma feministas - eles são simplesmente bons escritores, que se saem bem com personagens, e assim acabam escrevendo personagens femininas bem trabalhadas. Repita depois de mim: se você consegue escrever, você consegue escrever mulheres.
Isso não é indicação de qualquer tipo de inclinação para a justiça social. Em uma era de ativismo em fandoms e de representatividade feminina deficitária, basta isso para que alguns escritores sejam elevados à santidade. O que não significa que eles mereçam.
Martin é um desses homens. Ele não quer subverter o patriarcado, como vejo ser sugerido de vez em quando. Ele é apenas astuto o bastante para perceber quais tropos subverter para fazer uma história interessante.
(Eu até sou da opinião de que todo essa subversão foi apenas uma ‘cortina de fumaça’ literária e que ASOIAF vai virar uma fantasia mais estereotipada em Ventos do Inverno/Sonho de Primavera, mas acho que teremos que esperar para ver).
GRRM retratar uma ampla gama de personagens femininas em seu trabalho não significa automaticamente que ele as vê como algo mais do que um exercício de escrita; isso não deveria lhe conferir uma medalha de feminista.
Falamos muito sobre o teste de Bechdel por aqui, o que não é de forma alguma um indicativo de como um trabalho se torna feminista, mas é sempre algo interessante de se fazer, então eu decidi dar uma testada.

Been wondering about this recently, because I've only ever sussed the matter out on a small, interpersonal scale.
There's a storied history of lesbians having non-normative relationships to sexual pleasure. The best example is probably the stone butch, who rejects direct genital contact and instead gets off from giving. I'm butch, through and through, and while I'm not stone, I've always preferred a certain kind of "masculinizing" touch. Namely: I don't like having my chest touched at all, and I keep a sports bra on during sex; I don't do penetration of any kind either.
There's something about both acts that simply turns me off, and always has. It's contrary to the way I see myself sexually and the things I want to do with (and to) women. To clarify, it's not like I have some sort of issue showing those parts of myself to intimate partners; I love me some no-holds-barred naked cuddling, lol. Engaging them just doesn't have any erotic appeal and actively toggles me out of arousal, for both psychological and sensory reasons.
I'm wondering how common this kind of thing is on both sides of the equation. How does the average lesbian feel about sleeping with someone with "stone-ish" tendencies? How many lesbians have these tendencies themselves?
