Scotland

We had left the Scylla at Scapa Flow, been ferried across to Thurso, on the northern tip of Scotland, and sent by train down to Glasgow, arriving on September 25, a little less than two weeks after we had been sunk.

Arriving in Glasgow, we were once again under the direction of the U.S. Navy Port Liaison Office, Gourock, The Clyde. We U.S. Navy survivors numbered six officers and 107 enlisted men. It turned out that, through the small differences in dates of rank, I was the senior survivor, so I was given written orders to take charge of them. This made things orderly on the Liaison Officer’s books, but was essentially meaningless. We stayed and went where the shore establishment directed.

At the square in Glasgow, known as Charing Cross, the hotel there had been taken over by the American Red Cross. Servicemen on leave in Glasgow could stay there for seventy-five cents a night.

“Wait what?” they asks

“We are not going to be here for the majority of the year and I don't think any of us want to have to come back and deal with bandits that manage to get their hands on our gear do you?” Derrick says as he starts putting together an new firearm

“There aren't enough men to work the fields and guard you know that right?” says a young man as he enters followed by an older gentleman and a one eyed dark elf in a maids outfit

“And you are?” Derrick asks

“I am Halafarin, fourth son of Barron Vaydark. These are my attendants Cyran and Murdress. We joined your company after the last battle but I thought that you name was Derrick not Mikhail?”

“It is. Mr. Kalashnikov, who was Russian, designed the AK. He died on December 23, 2013.” Derrick replies

“That is quite the imagination you have there young man” Murdress says in a polite manner

“Not quite.” Daniel says with a grin

“Huh, guess we forgot to mention to you new guys, that my sister and I reincarnated?” Derrick says absentmindedly as he finishes putting together a larger weapon before turning around and tossing it to Grake. Looking over to see his new guests have there jaws on the floor as more people had come to see what he had been working on during their break in training

“That was about our reaction.” Grake says while grinning “so what's this, and also what were you going to say about the defending here while we are away?”

“That is an M79 grenade launcher, nicknamed the Thumper. For guarding I figured we could take pages from Japanese and Russian history. More specifically the Sengoku era and the battle of Stalingrad.”

Even though I've never taken a mental health assessment before, I would like to believe that sometimes I FEEL (which is subjective and probably not true) that I'm either antisocial or a psychopath. I say that because I give off the impression that I'm some murderer or convict when I look or sometimes stare at others for longer than a second. I guess they would assume this about me because of how well I maintain eye contact with them, therefore making them feel vulnerable or exposed. Also, I have a thing where I test others to see if they are real or fake and present multiple "shit tests" to quickly figure them out; people seem to think that I'm nice until it gets intimate, and then they run away from me. While I think through the consequences of my actions, I seldomly fear failure and never sympathize with the emotional ramifications of those actions taken.
