So, long-winded, over-thought out posts are my thing - a thing I’m trying to avoid. So I’ll make this as simple as possible.

I’m a 29F and a mother of a 2 year old who works in tech in a high-pressure sales career. I have been diagnosed with GAD/ADD since I was 14 but only began medication for both regularly (when my ADD allows me) for just over a year now.

To put this plainly - my anxiety (specifically health anxiety) has been taking the wheel lately and I feel like an absolute failure. To the point where I’m obsessing over my RHR (which is obviously slightly higher when taking Adderall) and my meds and worried that they’re damaging my body, along with other things I ingest daily (yes, everything).

I have been in a great place since actually seeking treatment and regularly taking medication prescribed by my PCP for a year (Adderall 20 mg x2 daily / Celexa 10 mg). I only usually take 30 mg of my Adderall daily.

I’ve accomplished so much that I never thought I would be able to and have felt more confident in motherhood. However, I recently switched jobs to an AMAZING job with huge financial and career potential and all of a sudden I feel like I’m falling apart? I feel like I’m going to die every day (this is how my anxiety manifests itself) whether it be from a heart attack or cancer or any terminal tragic thing I can think of. Self sabotage at its finest. It feels like my ADD/GAD just came back full swing out of nowhere, I’m not sure where to go from here.

Now that this awful feeling is happening and I feel so discouraged, I’ve toyed with the idea of not taking my meds at all anymore to help and have went consecutive days without Adderall and it made my anxiety even worse. Like horribly bad, so I don’t think that is the culprit.

I’ve been completing a CBT workbook which is really helping more and more each day. I just hate this part about myself and I hate even admitting to people I take medication, I shared with a friend i took Adderall and they immediately said “Wow Gem, isn’t that pretty much meth?” And that sent my health anxiety skyrocketing. I’m over thinking everything and not accomplishing anything.

Does anyone else cope with this internal battle? Should I stop taking meds or give something else a chance? I have an appointment with my PCP in the next few weeks, but I’m worried she’ll prescribe me something that will make me feel worse or even worse: prescribe me ANOTHER med on top of the two I take (Adderall and Celexa).

Some we like are Rose, Rae, Fay (my moms middle name), and Marilou (a combo of our moms first names). We’d love to hear what others think and if you have any other suggestions for us.

So I'm verrrrry newly pregnant and just thinking of names as fun since I still have all the time in the world. I have 2 boy names chosen but struggling with girls. My daughter's name is Athena Elise. The girl names I like so far are Gemma, Lyra, Juliet, and Cordelia. Which name do you like best and goes best with Athena as a sibling? Is Gemma with a M last name (begins with Mo) too repetitive? Also, if you have any other names you think I would like, please post them!

The Gemma Doyle Trilogy is a series of fantasy books by Libba Bray that takes place at a ladies' finishing school in 1895 London (there are also some characters from Bombay, now known as Mumbai. It makes me cringe so hard every time I see it spelled wrong.

I’m not sure what else! I remember her name was Gemma, I believe the title had something with the word bubblegum in it? And was really long?

She has a crush on this guy who’s also in the play. He’s kind of mean to her? Or maybe their characters in the play are?

I read this book like 3 times lol. I got it from the library as a teen. The main character I believe was 15 or so. I read Angus, Thongs, and Perfect-Snogging around this time as well so they keep getting mixed up in my head!

I remember the cover perhaps had letters in pink blocks on it? I spent so much time in the library as a teen and I’ve tried googling this so many times!

ETA: I asked my sister (who had never read the book) after I had been googling and reading websites for about an hour today.

Hi all, we are expecting our second child in June. Our top name at the moment is Gemma. We are having a heck of a time coming up with a middle name, though. Her older brother is James Knox and our last name is similar to Coney. What I love about my son's middle name is that it's strong and unique. We had a ton of middle names set aside for a boy and everything for a girl feels so... soft.

I had wanted to give her the middle name Calliope, as that was my grandmother's name. I think DH is having trouble with the way I pronounce it though, he says it sounds too exotic. I pronounce it Cal-yo-pee. Also, we cannot use Grace or Rose for her middle name.

Here's what we've come up with so far. DH is not wowed by any of them, and truthfully, neither am I.
