A list of puns related to "Geelong, Victoria"
So for context, feeling unwell and decided to go get tested. Doing my part and all that.
However COVID testing sites have been "temporarily suspended" in Geelong and all the way to Hoppers Crossing. I have visited every testing site and spent hours of my time trying to get tested but nothing is open.
Compounding the fact that it is impossible to buy a rapid antigen test I'm really at a loss at what to do next?
further context, went to visit testing sites at 12PM as testing sites have advised to attend in the afternoon due to capacity issues.
Victoria now has three mass vaccination centres as well as the smaller ones at medical practices etc.
They are at:
Exhibition Buildings, Carlton Gardens (Enter from the Nicholson Street side)
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Wharf, CBD (Jeff's Shed)
Former Ford Factory, 2-30 North Shore Road, Norlane, Geelong
For information and bookings go here or phone 1800 675 398
Note: Do not get a COVID vaccination within two weeks of getting a 'flu vaccine.
I got vaccinated at the Exhibition Buildings this morning this morning. The site is officially supposed to open tomorrow (Wednesday, 21 April) but the chap at the call centre (1800 675 398) said I could go in this morning, when I phoned up for a booking on Sunday. He booked me an appointment for 0915 and said I should be there 20 minutes early for registration. (So why not make it a nine o'clock appointment?)
You can get there by the 86 or 96 trams that travels along Nicholson Street, or bus routes 250 and 251 along Rathdowne Street. On the web page there is public transport information for all three sites.
On the paths around the Exhibition Building big purple stickers have been placed to show you the way, and have logos for the Federal government and St Vincent's Hospital.
There is a check-in desk where you give your name or tell them you are a walk-in. (Seems like you can roll up without an appointment and they will try to fit you in.) I used the Victorian Government check-in app on the QR code at the desk and it responded with a message that this was not a government-issued site identification code. What is going on here? Someone needs to lift their game.
At the check-in desk they verified my identity, (Is someone going to sneak in and cheat me of my vaccination?) asked some health questions and took my temperature. They gave me a new disposable mask and I was asked to sit down and wait. They also gave me an information sheet about the Astra Zeneca vaccination which mentioned the blood clotting issue and underlying conditions that could cause problems.
After a couple of minutes a nurse took me and a couple of other people who were waiting to some cubicles and handed me over to a young man who I presume is a nurse. He was very friendly and cheerful and asked me my name, and to verify it was me, asked for my address and date of birth. He than asked a lot of questions about my health and if I or my relatives had

Just curious as, unless I'm unaware you can't tell where people are from unless you directly engage with them right? I wonder how many redditers are in my area?
