A list of puns related to "Galaxy S4"
For the life of me, I can't understand why modern Trek keeps running with continuing plotlines of galaxy-churning apocalypses.
Say what you will about the writing, casting, or cinematography of DIS and PIC, ultimately that's subjective and we all have different opinions. But does anyone really care for these types of stories?
Imo these back-to-back "epic" plots undermine any sense of stakes, and make the show feel like a cheap subscriber grab. It's not that save-the-world stories don't belong in Star Trek! Personally I loved Enterprise's Xindi arc (S3), which was about a desperate mission to stop an alien planet killer from destroying the Earth.
That season of Enterprise isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think it worked precisely because it was a deviation from the norm. Suddenly this crew of Starfleet idealists had to grapple with very destructive events. The tensions between the characters felt real, and earned.
I really wish DIS would slow down and discover something for a change. When the stakes are constantly escalating, it can be hard to care about the story or feel any sense of drama.
EDIT: Clarified my opinion and gave a constructive example. Thanks mods.
Hi all,
Thanks in advance.
I work a remote IT job but am active. I play disc golf for 30 minutes a day while at work. I sleep track and go for walks daily as well.
Once or twice a week, I'll go play 18 or 36 holes of disc golf on a course near me.
I go hiking with my family pretty often too. Two small kiddos so I am always on the go.
I won't use my watch for swimming, possibly running though.
6'4 and lanky build. I love the look of the 6x and 6 pro, but not sure I need all that those offer.
Happy holidays.
So I got an S4 a few months back and I'm overall happy with the purchase, but I was wondering how other users deal with battery life drainage? I WFH so some days I just don't need to wear it, and I hate having to turn it off just to preserve some juice. I also hate just keeping it on the charger at all times, seems like such a waste.
Do you guys just switch to battery preservation mode or do y'all have any other tricks with this? I sort of wish there was a "sleep" mode just to turn off most functionality until I need it. Thanks for any and all responses :)
I would like to have a tablet for basic stuff (watching netflix, youtube, and above all to study and take notes)
Is the Tab S4 still a good tablet in 2021 for the kind of things that I want to do? would the spen in this tablet be good enough for the use that I want to give it?
I've never owned a tablet before, and I found it for 190β¬ with all the accesories so i'm considering if it's worth spending that money (Budget is limited)
Edit: I see a lot of people are recomending to buy the S6 lite instead. How good are the updates for a user who just wants to do web browsing and take notes / study? Would I notice the difference if I bought the S6 lite instead?
Hi everyone ,
I just installed versions
- lineage-18.1-20211125-nightly-jfltexx-signed
- MindTheGapps-11.0.0-arm64-20210412_124247
it boots but I have this strange flag in yellow " set warranty bit : kernel" !!! Is there a way to get rid of this or shall I ignore it and use the phone like this ?
Thanks
Hey everyone,
I haven't found anything on flashing a custom recovery on this phone via Linux alone. I don't really have good access to a windows pc + the phone is not recognizing the win10 pcs I have tried. Through my 2 different Linux systems, however, there is no problem and adb is working quite nicely.
The Installation guide on the website requires running several .exe programs...
Do you have any tips on how to proceed?
Best regards!
Hi everyone,
I've been using Android 4.4.2 on my Galaxy S4 since 2014 or so. As much as I like KitKat, there are a couple apps I'd like to use that don't support it, and I don't want to install Samsung's Lollipop. I tried LineageOS on a different phone (also an S4) and liked it, but I use Verizon, and LineageOS can only be installed on Verizon variants running a specific bootloader version which I don't have and can't downgrade to.
I've been checking Ebay for a while, but people generally don't put the bootloader version in their listings, and Verizon pushed an OTA update at some point, so pretty much all of the phones on Ebay are running Android 5 anyway.
If anyone has an old S4 with the I545VRUAMDK bootloader you're not using any more, would you let me buy it off you? No worries if it's cracked/dented/otherwise poor condition, as long as the motherboard works.
Thanks :)
Hello, I think i might have bricked my Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 tablet. The problem is that the device does not start further than samsung logo and it restarts itself. I will describe how this happened and what i have already tried.
-I have flashed stock firmware which has the number; T830XXU5CUE2, and after that tablet booted normally without any problems. After that i processed to uninstall some bloatware apps by adb tool on windows computer. After that i turned off the device and it did started bootloading and restarting by itself (there is logo of Samsung however it does not go further). I believe i might have uninstalled some important package or software, however i do not possess the exact name of packages i have uninstalled. After that i flashed again a stock firmware (I'm posting the website from which i have downloaded it; kfhost.net/firmware/download/samsung/galaxy-tab-s4/SM-T835/) with the options in the odin: Auto reboot and F. Reset time. After that problem did not resolve and it only stops and samsung logo booting and does not go further. I can access the recovery mode and download mode so i tried to wipe data, do factory reset and wipe cache partition. By doing that problem did not resolve, so i tried to flash stock firmware again through odin however with Nand erase function and Repartition. Doing that also did not solved a problem.
This is the story of how that happened and what i have done already. I do not possess much knowledge of technology, however i can see that that this is problem which i cannot solve without asking for help of another people. I have read on developer android forums about solving this through recovery mode; apply update from ADB, however i cannot access adb further because by typing command: adb shell i get the error: closed. By checking recovery logs in recovery mode i think i got important log: I:efs is already mounted
W:[libfs_mgr]Failed to umount /efs:Device or resource busy
check_selective_file:Can't unmount /efs - Device or resource busy
just_reboot_after_update = 1
I would like to ask for solution to that problem and what I might do if such solution cannot be obtained through self means. By that i mean sending device to device producer or other repair service, and is that possible, because i think that flashing already using this Nand erase and Repartition option rips my device of warranty. Any help is appreciated.
I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 Neo and I have downloaded lineage 18.1 https://download.lineageos.org/s3ve3gjv
But installing it on my phone goes in boot loop. What can I do?
I know the conventional logic was that you shouldn't really keep phones just plugged in charging all of the time. I feel like that isn't quite as much an issue anymore with modern phones, as they trickle up and down with software limiting.
But I have a few old Galaxy S4 Mini android phones that I'm just using as a HA camera using IP Webcam. They'll be plugged in, running IP webcam and recording a circular video 100% of the time.
How bad is this for the phone or battery? Anyone else have a similar setup? The S4 mini has a replacable battery, but I would like to make them last.
One of my children has had a galaxy S4 on straight talk for about a year and a half with no issues. We decided to upgrade him, everything got switched over to his new galaxy Ao2 just fine. We decided to give the S4 to my other child, ordered a new Sim card, and tried to activate it yesterday. I got a pop-up on a straight talk app that said eventually the S4 will not work because the system wonβt support it, and that we will know when that starts happening because calls will be dropped or just not go through at all. I figured there wouldnβt be an issue because we are going to upgrade him for his birthday in May. After several hours the phone still wouldnβt work despite having it service fully loaded on it.
I did the help chat and the representative said that it just cannot be activated at all because it is so old, because of network changes, despite it literally working two hours before on a different line. Has anyone had this issue and does anyone have any fixes?
I have been using a samsung galaxy s4 since 2014 . I replace the battery every year or so. Unfortunately i dont think it will make it another year.
Yes, I am aware that its been 8 years since the s4 was released. No , i don't find devices released in the last few years that amazing . I like the S4. Its the perfect device for me . I know exactly what i get\dont get with it.
I have done a decent amount of web searching.
The refresh rate for the Galaxy tab S4 just isn't easy to find online.
I tried turning on the developer options but there isn't an option to show refresh rate in the developer options on the tab s4.
Can anyone tell me what it is?
I've tried many variants of GCam, but all of them would refuse to install ("App not installed"). My first idea of what to do was try another one, and another one, and another one, but it wouldn't. Next, I've tried uninstalling the stock camera using a Magisk module, but still not installing. After that, I've attempted to enable Camera2API (not sure if my custom ROM even has support for it) by manually editing the build prop, but that failed. I did some searching to see if some guy asked the same question and (maybe) someone provided a link to one, but all I found instead were just really sketchy download sites. I have a Galaxy S4, Android 11.
I have an old S4 that I rooted a while back and I have forgotten everything I once knew about rooting phones. I wanted to use the IR blaster that was built in my phone to use it as a universal remote, but it doesn't seem to be recognized by the OS I have installed (Omni). I was wondering if anyone knows how to make the IR blaster functional?
18.1 is bigger than previous releases and after a fresh install there is only 46 MB free space on the small 1GB system partition on my old Galaxy S4 GPE. All gapps packages fail to install, including the pico opengapps.
I tried installing from both TWRP and lineage recovery. Both same results.
I tried configuring gapps-config.txt to remove everything except LUpdater, KeyboardStock, Launcher, and Themes (stock theme engine) and there still was not enough space.
Anyone have any solutions?
I am interested in getting a stylus capable tablet for school. My budget is in the $200-$250 range.

EDIT: I managed to install it after some tinkering. Turned out the heimdall flash didn't really work before. Please don't upvote, maybe delete.
I wish to install LineageOS with Google Apps on my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9515 "Value Edition", so I followed the instructions given at https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/jfvelte/install#installing-lineageos-from-recovery, however, it doesn't work and just boots to the stock Samsung Android instead.
The page says:
>Tip: If the process succeeds the output will stop at 47% and report adb: failed to read command: Success
However, the process on my phone reads as follows:
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Install from ADB complete.
Applying update complete.
Afterwards, the phone just auto-reboots without asking and I am presented with a factory-reset Samsung Android.
It is worth mentioning that the phone is taking a lot of time in the Verifying update package
step and that the error messages appear at 47% and 94%.
I already tried taking out the battery one the phone is trying to reboot, then again booting to recovery again to sideload MindTheGapps, and also different versions (2021-08-28 and 2021-07-31), all to no success.
Does anybody have an idea how I could solve this issue?
Do you guys know if I would be able to hook up a Samsung Galaxy tab s4 to a laptop using a USB-to-USB C between the tablet and laptop? And do u guys know if it's able to change the tablet? Thanks for reading.
