Mum and I went to the store today, and were shopping and I'm wandering in my fashionable finest of my tan ice vest because it's freaking hot already. Store security followed us with wide eyes whispering in his little walkie talkie. >.> Needless to say the boys in blue showed up. LOL I was like uh.. it's an ice vest? >.> not what it looks like I swear! (they DO look like bombing vests ffs especially this tan lovely I'm wearing XD) They were like oh good! Yes! The crippled fat woman with a cane is strutting around in a vest. grin I thought it was funny, poor store guy apologized and I was like no sweetie it's ok you did like you should. If you THINK it is you damn well BETTER get it checked!
Partially inspired by Game Grumps, but also from my wacky group of friends.

Iβm having a situationβ¦ My partner and I have been isolating, though both over our covid symptoms.
So I live in a set of 12 townhouses in a very leafy boring neighborhood of mostly old people in the inner east (take a guess). Thereβs a wide communal garden area between the two rows of six houses, all the front doors open onto it and you walk past the other houses to get to the street.
10 sets of our neighbors are really nice people. The one who lives opposite us is frankly deranged. She screeches at literally anyone about anything, any time. When I first moved in last year she chased me down the footpath screaming at me to go back to Sydney and take my covid with me. (I hadnβt been in Sydney for years, didnβt have covid.) It got to the point if I saw her, Iβd duck away/wait for her to disappear.
Anyway, we ignore her and the other neighbours report similar unpleasantness and we all generally commiserate with each other. She definitely definitely has issues.
Paranoid neighbour has taken things up a notch this weekβ¦ I feel for her, on some level, itβs got to be hard living with such an extreme feeling of high alert. But on the other handβ¦
I was chilling yesterday on my couch and heard a funny psssht sound, I got up to look around thinking it was a leak or somethingβ¦ Glanced out the kitchen window across the communal garden and saw the crazy neighbor drenching her screen door in disinfectant, then she saw me and slammed her front door. Weird. This is usually what she does if she sees me, for months, sometimes opening the door just to slam it and startle me, but the spraying was new. I never do anything to her, I donβt engage, I ignore it as best I can. All my doors and windows facing the garden were shut yesterday.
Later, I was getting some water, making lunch and saw her doing the same thing. Kitchen sink overlooks the garden. She was defo watching out for me. Disappeared back into her house and then emerged in full ppe, glaring at me and spraying a cloud of disinfectant in front of her to take out the rubbishβ¦ I donβt think itβs possible she knows we are isolating (unless she watches the neighbors movements and draws conclusions, which, maybe?) or if sheβs just that on edge because it seems a quarter of the city has covid.
This morning, my partner sat on our front step having coffee and reading the news, watching our cat. Cat wears a high vis vest, likes to sit for an hour or so in the grass next to our door in the mornings. Leashed and closely

Last night's game was so debilitating frustrating if you're like me, a 20-something year old who's only ever known ridiculous success regarding Boston sports, particularly regarding the Patriots. There's literally never been a game I've been so gobsmacked to watch unfold. Most of the time all I could do was laugh and mutter senseless things to myself. Within the contextual realm of it being just a game, this was devastating.
For my dad, it was actually a time of reflection. He was laughing, but it was a much different laugh than mine. My laugh was that of a psychiatric patient trying to cling to some sort of sanity but only finding humor in the distress. His was much more wholesome and cheery. My laughing was because I didn't know what else to do. His laughing was because he knew exactly what to do.
Time for a bit of a humble brag regarding my dad. I love him, but more than that is respect for him. He was born on a plane that was en route from a 3rd world country to Boston. Shortly after, they then flew back to said country. While still a child, an absolutely massive earthquake leveled their farmhouse and they had to move back to Boston. He fit right in to the blue collar aspect of the city. Hard working, long days, tough situations were apparent whether in the financially destitute rurals of his farm country or the low income suburbs of Southie, struggle was the name of the game and he was a player, whether voluntary or not.
He had to get a job pretty young to help pay for the basics. Paperboy on the city corner, then a movie theater projectionist, then a hose supplier worker, then a factory worker at...Gillette. At that point in time there wasn't any association between Gillette and the Patriots. There was association between the Patriots and him, though. In fact, my dad had season tickets to the team. Nowadays that means something but back then it was almost a joke, as in "wow you must hate yourself a lot to buy season tickets to weekly beat downs." It was Schaffer Stadium, and it wasn't much more than a high school/college stadium. In fact, playing at one of the other colleges in the area (Harvard, Boston College, MIT) was actually an upgrade from a fan perspective. But back then the Patriots fans were akin to the recent Bills/Browns fans. Blue collar people, slightly unhinged, but totally steadfast in their support for the team despite having no legitimate reason to be based on team performance. At that time it was all about the othe

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Iβve had the image of a celebrity stuck in my head for a while, but I cannot for the life of me remember his name or find him anywhere online. Heβs been plaguing my thoughts for months and I need answers for my sanityβs sake.
Heβs a white dude (looks like he would burn very easily in the sun, so quite pale), has curly black hair (or it couldβve been dark brownβmaybe the lightning was weird), and he possibly has brown eyes. His eyes look a bit wide, and he kind of has a baby face. He didnβt have any distinct facial hair in the image Iβm picturing. I can only see him in my head with a slightly surprised expression (but not too surprised), or a very small smile if anything (it would be with his lips, not with his teeth). I keep thinking that his lips look like they need chapstick, but I donβt know if that helps much. He doesnβt have a wide or very pointy chin, it falls somewhere in the middle. I donβt think his cheekbones were too defined. He was skinny, and didnβt look very muscular at all.
Iβm fairly certain the image Iβm remembering is of him on some sort of red carpet, thereβs bright lighting and there may or may not be other guys standing with him possibly (heβs not in a band though), but I donβt know if that particular detail is as accurate or as important as the other details I recall.
I think he was big in the 2010s era (like he was either wearing a normal suit, or he had one of those weird fashionable vest outfits going on that were big at the timeβthink original Jonas brothers fashion but with a slightly older man). In my mind, I associate him with SNL, but I havenβt managed to find him there, so Iβm guessing Iβm just making a connection between him and being funny. I thought that he was part of Lonely Island, but after checking, I can confirm that he is not.
For some reason, I want to think heβs Italian, but Iβm not sure if Iβm basing that off of some weird assumption on how he looked or if thereβs actual truth to that. Either wag, he speaks English and is/was popular in America.
He definitely wasnβt a teen, but he could pass as younger than he actually is. My guess is somewhere between 24ish and his 30s (I canβt say that heβs either of those ages now though). Iβm certain heβs not recently famous, at least, heβs been known about for more than 5 years, and Iβd bet longer than that.
I think heβs an actor of some kind. I heavily doubt he was a musician. He looks like heβd play an awkward, nerdy, or shy type character. And to bring it up again
