A list of puns related to "Funny Star Trek"
Geordie: damnit Reg, you put these cheap batteries in my tricorder again. I told you, only Duracell for away missions!
...and I don't have the heart to tell them about all of the war crimes I'm committing in front of them.
I'm a new-ish player giving my first Hive Mind species a go. I was going to play a fanatic pacifist, but looking at some of the traits I instead decided to play as a Tree Of Life hive mind and role play that I was a fanatic pacifist. Well, one thing leads to another and mid-game I find myself unable to produce the food I'm wanting. It's just not working out.
I was saving that ascension point for Hive Planet terraforming. But my empire is out of food and I'm looking for options. There's a pathetically weak empire boxed between me and a marauder empire.
I look at my food. I look at the ascension point. I look at the empire.
And you know what? They looked tasty. The hive mind decided that it wasn't so peaceful when it came to us vs. them. I grabbed the Nihilistic Acquisition perk, declared a war of subjugation (tribute), and parked my fleets above their homeworld and a second world. Twenty abductions later I've got a great big food surplus and I finish off the war.
But that's not the end of it. Nobody wants their slaves to revolt, so I spread them out nice and thin across my planets (breaking up families is fun). I'm also looking at the species tab and realize that at some point I unlocked the ability to start genetically engineering my people. But it's not just my people, it's the slaves too. So a tidy little 4000 society research later and all of my livestock pops have been modified to be Agrarian.
So now I've got the tastiest grass-fed, cage-free livestock pops you have ever seen and the hive mind just couldn't be happier. It reminds me of that time in Civilization when George Washington ate the Hessians at Valley Forge to survive the winter.
It's not genocide if you meticulously plan your consumption rate to maintain a stable population...
Consider me part of the hive, if you'll have me.

Can you imagine if social media was still around in the 24th century Trek universe? The Federation, the Klingon Empire and other races having "verified" accounts and making daily posts? The trillions of personal accounts from all races? Posting selfies when landing on new planets... Imagine the mess...
"Captain, our shipped has been tagged in an Instagram post by the Ferengi government."
It's funny how people forget that Star Trek is a post apocalyptic TV and film series.
In "Realm of Fear" the crew trapped in matter stream look like socks on someones hand.
both choices have their frozen Khans.
Hands down Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy from Voyager.
Nothing beats the look on Tom's face when Janeway moves The Doctor's hand down her ass during a bridge meeting when The Doctor was daydreaming or whatever.
The header is pretty much it. I'm greatly enjoying LD and hope it keeps up the great work. I am concerned that it can't reach a wider audience due to have heavily the humor seems to be influenced by previous Star Trek shows in general and how much of it relies on deep cuts that no one outside fandom is going to get.
Thoughts?
TLDR: Discovery AI computer was obsessed with Audrey Hepburn (the Burn) and watched Funny Face so many times it ended up using all the dilithium in the universe.
What is something in Trek you love (or hate) that most everyone else would disagree with? Or at least you think everyone disagrees with?
Mine is that of all the ships in Trek (both regular and "Hero" ships) I think the best/coolest design is the NX-01 from Enterprise. I love how it looks both advanced and crude both inside and out. I also love how of all the ships called Enterprise it looks the most unique. All the others are too similar to each other in my opinion, all having the same basic shape. Sure the NX-01 had a somewhat similar saucer section but that was it. Without the secondary hull section it have a look unique shape that no other Enterprise ship had (and yes, my second favorite ship is the Defiant but more other reasons beyond just how it looked)
Edit: So I felt the need to make a quick edit to just say how surprised I am by this subreddit. This is a post that's basically just begging for people to fight over something but so far, nothing. Even in the few comments with people specifically disagreeing with someone. And while theirs more then a few comments I very much disagree with (DS9 is awesome and so is the opening song to Enterprise, fight me) I will admit to being presently surprised by the conversations happening.
I have been thinking about this for a while. I would like to see a show, movie, mini series based in the Star Trek universe but the characters aren't Starfleet. What's life like on Earth for regular people? What about life on some other Federation planet? What about some federation citizen that has their own ship and just goes on adventures? Am I crazy in thinking such a thing could be entertaining?
sWell have a few more interesting pieces today. Hope you find something you like.

I honestly would love to see Neil Patrick Harris brought on as a highly arrogant holographic AI they encounter living alone on a ship somewhere in the galaxy.
Edit: Would also love to see Eddie Izzard as a Q, or Michael Ironside is a highly serious no bullshit admiral who comes in to take command for some missions β and the entire crew despises him.
