The only scene I specifically remember is a part where the baby Deku Tree pops out of the ground and a really quickly and highpitched says βWouldYouLikeToHearAboutOurLordAndSaviorJesusChrist?β
Pretty sure there were like three that were 10-20 minutes each, been trying to find it for days. It wasnβt animated it was actual gameplay footage.
Alright, so I know this may sound dramatic but hereβs the story and some background information.
Whenever I (24f) find a new hobby my fiancΓ© (30m) piggy backs onto it, making it a competition and tries to prove a point that whether or not I like something heβs better than me at it and it gets under my skin.
I got myself Breath of the Wild for Christmas and I was really really enjoying it until he started back seat gaming telling me how I should play, getting frustrated at me for not listening to him when heβs distracting me from the game by saying generic things like βthe monster is over thereβ, getting annoyed that Iβm doing things like foraging. I woke up this morning to him playing it which was fine, until he started telling me βsee, I got further than you.β, βit took you this long to get to this part but it only took me this long.β, βyou canβt even ride a bear.β And now Iβm pissed off because I donβt want to play games for the competition of it, I just want to have fun.
He asked me if I was going to be playing it today and I told him Iβm done playing it because I donβt want another thing I enjoy ruined because of his need to want to be better than me. He told me Iβm being dramatic and that Iβm selfish for not wanting him to play the game. AITA for being upset about this?
Edit: To add info, a lot of you are asking why Iβm with him. Despite having some less than fantastic qualities heβs also really great when he wants to be. Heβs also financially supporting our family while going to school, while Iβm currently a SAHM whoβs looking for a job. Iβd be financially and emotionally screwed if I left him. Plus I love him, which I feel like isnβt the most fantastic reason to stay with someone but I feel like Iβd be devastated if we broke off the engagement.
Iβve been recently making my way through Barrett Courtneyβs in depth look into the Legend of Zelda series on Kinda Funnyβs YouTube channel, and it got me thinking about Mark Brownβs Game Makerβs Toolkit segment βBoss Keysβ. Specifically the opinion of both creators opinion on Backtracking.
Throughout the entire segment of Boss Keys, you can hear Markβs opinion that the dungeons become far more simplified in nature as the games entered 3D spaces with a distinct lack of Backtracking being involved in these games. Through watching these videos, the viewer can interpret this as a bad thing.
However when placed in contrast to βZelda In Reviewβ, Barrett talks about how when he played through the 2D games, he found it much less cumbersome to backtrack than he did in the 3D games as he felt that when playing in a 2D space, it took much less time to return to an area in a dungeon than it did in a 3D Zelda Title. As a result of this, the 3D games typically focus more on combat than problem solving and backtracking.
Interestingly, Mark also mentions his similar concerns in the Metroid games citing less backtracking as making the game easier. Perhaps this is more so intentional as combat works better in a 3D space in comparison to a 2D space
While neither opinion on this topic is typically wrong, itβs interesting to hear different thoughts and viewpoints on similar mechanics in gameplay. If youβve watched these videos, what other bits of Game Design discussion did you find interesting?
Furthermore, can you think of any games that blend these two components together well in a 3D world? And if not, how do you think the design of dungeons could be altered to improve the overall complexity in the first place?
Edit 1: timestamps were suggested to prevent readers from having to sit through a four hour video. The main point from Zelda in review starts from 37:06 and runs till 38:19. Link for the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SftdpUVXQLA&feature=youtu.be
Boss keys wind waker: 1:38- about 3:35 however you can watch further for more insight into his opinion.

They are always putting a Link in the description.
This randomly popped into my head today. I've been following the gaming channel since the beginning so the intro music is synonymous with Berleezy's gaming vids for me now.
What Legend of Zelda games would you want to see him play?
I get it, it was revolutionary and amazing when it came out, but by modern-day standards, it's very very VERY average.
It is NOT the greatest game of all time anymore and people need to stop claiming that it is.
Just leave it be one of the most revolutionary games of all time or the greatest 90s game.
Stop saying that it is better than games like Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 5 or Half life 2.
It's just fucking not.
Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda
I was pretty skeptical about the two Game and Watch systems that have been released. I wasn't sold on the Mario one at all. However, much to my fanboy shame, I have never finished the OG LoZ or played Adventures of Link at all. Link's Awakening is also one of my all-time favorites, so this was a much easier purchase to justify.
Everything about this thing is exactly what I hoped it would be and more. You can instantly switch between games with automatic save-states integrated flawlessly. This makes the learning curve of the NES titles much more bearable- when you get frustrated with one game, you just switch to the other one and pick up where you left off.
The tiny little screen is surprisingly vibrant. Size comparison with Switch. It has brightness, volume, and auto-sleep settings. The speaker is fine for what it is. I was worried about the comfort of playing this, as I have pretty big hands and handheld systems can be hit or miss for me. So far I've been able to play it for multiple hours without any cramping. It charges with a USB C port, with a ~1-foot USB A to C cable included. There is no option for headphones.
Finally, the feature that I didn't expect to love: the packaging it comes in can be folded into a stand to make it a desk clock. This feature shows Link fighting enemies in randomly generated (after watching more closely, they are actual rooms from LoZ) rooms with the time displayed in the form of various terrain blocks/rupees/bushes/etc. If you just let it sit there, Link will automatically clear the room himself and a new one will appear after a few minutes. At certain times of day, you will see special enemies and easter eggs. For example: >!Do you have the patience to watch until Gannon appears?!<
When you see an interesting room, you can take control and clear the room yourself. When you get bored, just set it down and Link will start playing on his own again. I never imagined using this thing as a clock, but it now sits on my bedside table, glowing dimly all night long, ready to play whenever I have an idle moment. There are quite a few other easter eggs including >!hidden artwork and cheat codes.!<
Finally, all three main games are a blast. The NES titles are punishing, but rewarding. If you go into AoL expecting a classic platformer rather than a traditional Zelda game, you won't be disappointed. LA to

Just in case people weren't aware, Zelda got a 35th anniversary collection release unofficially including OOT, OOT-MQ & MM. Here is the link to the mod, you must provide your own ROMs.
This allows you to use 3 separate NSP files, one for each game and works way better than N64 online with no fog issues etc.
Hey!
I do videogame music covers and am in need of some artwork for an upcoming digital release in the very near future. I'll need a 3000x3000px image, based on the scenes within Legend of Zelda. Ideally, this does not have any easily identifiable characters visible for copyright reasons.
It'd be wonderful if we could subtly sneak in a logo for my VGM project somewhere in the artwork, too.
Stylistically, I'm wanting to avoid a cartoon-y look, but open to both soft anime style (think Ghibli/"Your Name") or a more realistic piece. Looking to stick mostly with greens and blues, plenty of grass and sky visible.
Looking for a turnaround time of 10 calendar days.
Please shoot me a message with your pricing and examples! I am often in need of these things multiple times per year, so please don't hesitate to send me your info.
Thanks so much!
EDIT: Hey all! I have found an artist for this (and quite a few others!). The turnout has been incredible and you're all so talented.
I need artwork somewhat regularly, so I'll be keeping this thread, your chats, and your DMs on hand for any future projects, too.
Thanks everyone!
