A list of puns related to "Funny Flute"
I bought a set of six small plates about 20 years ago in a small antique store in Wisconsin. I don't normally buy china but these were just so bizarre that I had to have them! I have looked and looked on the internet for anything like these but I have not been successful. I know that the mark was first used around 1912, and I believe that these plates were made for the domestic market, not for export. Could they be a children's set? Are these faces from some kind of Japanese fairy tale or something? What is up with the mouth on the one with the blue net on its head? Does anyone know anything? Thanks!! A while ago on here I saw a link to a blog that had 're-written' several opera libretti in an amusing way - I specifically remember seeing and reading The Magic Flute. I know this is a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know the page where they can be found? They were very funny...
