A list of puns related to "Fudge Name"
This is a comment I made but I think it'll get buried and posting it can serve as a "keep an eye on this" and a call for the opinions of well-informed superstonkers. I was never a reporter, but we have all seen how they will cite another publication as a source, and when you go to that publication it's like "a person familiar with the matter" or "linkedin posts". We saw just this past week how inept they CAN BE (not always) at accurately sourcing information. FB changing it's name to Meta just complicates that and gives shitty reporters one more excuse to hide behind.

Today I read a WSJ article titled "Microsoft Hit by Defections as Tech Giants Battle for Talent to Build the Metaverse" https://archive.is/0fijM
I had the peculiar thought that now that FB has changed their name to Meta, any company growing into the ***m***etaverse can be categorized as entering "***M***eta" and the ambiguity creates an opportunity for many "mistakes" in the vein of "oops we thought they were joining ***M***eta".
The quote which stood out to me: "The LinkedIn profiles of more than 70 former employees on the HoloLens team show they have left Microsoft in the past year. More than 40 joined Meta, formerly known as Facebook, which is making a big push into alternate-reality tech, the LinkedIn profiles show." The article then goes on to not name any of the other companies which are hiring those engineers and the ambiguity would make it easy to claim "oh we miscounted".
This seems far out but the ambiguity is exploitable and the number of outlets covering this fight over employees in the AR/Metaverse space trips my trigger.
I also remembered that on 28 December, Bloomberg reported a similar story titled "Apple Aims to Prevent Defections to Meta With Rare $180,000 Bonuses for Top Talent" https://archive.is/8wZTL#selection-3013.0-3020.0 With the subtitle: "Tech rivals such as Meta have been luring away employees" (BTW if you're curious, it seems like they only gave away one stock bonus of 180k, and that might have just been a rumor)
Again there is this way in which "Meta" can be used as an ambiguous umbrella and again there is this failure to mention who the other companies are!
Notable quote "Apple is waging a talent war with companies in Silicon Valley and beyond, with ***M***eta emerging as a particular threat. ***M***eta has hired about 100 engineers from Apple in the last

I left it in the left most room on the 73rd floor of the math building underneath a pile of old newspapers from 1785. You're welcome.
I was wondering if anyone knew fudge's solo q name?
The "dumbing down" of the nation continues unabated.
